The Safirian Empire — A vast and ancient star empire, controlled by a race of four-armed, azure-skinned, matriarchal psions, that has recently extended its reach into the Atos system. A land of dragons, naga, and angels; of ancient tradition and futurstic technology; of spacecraft and psionic powers; of ways and pastimes both alien and familiar; of gods, kings, and men. If this is in your wheelhouse, board the nearest spaceship and become part of a great tapestry stretching back over four million years.

Liberals target majority in Seivai

Liberal Party leader Luna Kèmaqeþ announced today that she is targeting an overall majority of seats in Seivai at the election. In an interview, Kèmaqeþ said she wants to win at least 35 of the region's 63 seats, a feat which would require an unprecedented swing of 30%. However, with the Liberals currently polling at 4% higher nationwide than at the last election, the party is confident that their manifesto is drawing voters back to the opposition of 12 years.

Liberals confident after pre-poll successes

Liberal leader Luna Kèmaqeþ has urged her party not to be complacent after coming out on top in the pre-polls published today. The party polled at 22%, a gain of four percentage points on 2528 and a lead of two percentage points over incumbents the Moderate Party. The party also scored a success in the approval ratings, with 68% of respondents saying they approved of the Liberal hierarchy. Kèmaqeþ was also the least disliked of all the main party leaders, with only the Esper Society candidate scoring lower on that question, but with a very high neutral rating.

Liberals appeal to non-voters

Another interesting statistic to come out of the pre-polls is the fact that 23% of citizens plan not to vote at all, despite compulsory voting being in the constitution. After the mass-abstain of 2522, that saw 30% of people not use their vote, this law has not been enforced fully. Liberal leader Luna Kèmaqeþ has today appealed to these non-voters with a new campaign pledge. The party announced the "It pays to have an opinion" scheme, whereby people that turn out to vote are given a small tax discount in return. The party says that the discount will apply to everyone, regardless of party preference, reinforcing the fact that it is impossible for the government to know who didn't vote for them.

Liberals target student vote

Luna Kèmaqeþ met with students at the prestigious National University of Safiria to officially unveil the Liberal Party's education plans. The party have promised increased funding for schools and universities, with students set to benefit the most as the topic of free higher education is on the agenda. Under Liberal proposals, students achieving a GPA of 3.5 or above will be entitled to free university places, and even for those that miss out, there will still be student loans provided to help students with their living costs. This policy is expected to be a winner among the younger voters.

Kèmaqeþ expresses support to Alexandrians after volcanic eruption

Luna Kèmaqeþ took a break from the campaign trail to speak about the massive volcanic eruption in Alexandria. Las Cabezas de Tapfer 3, part of the mountain range of the same name, spewed ash and rock over much of the surrounding area, with some of the ejected material reported to be the size of baseballs. It is not yet known if anybody has died in the eruption, but Liberal leader Kèmaqeþ stepped away from her usual passionate demeanour and delivered a more calm, reflective address. Speaking to citizens in Seivai, she said "it is very concerning to see our friends in Alexandria in this situation. My thoughts go to those living near to the volcano, who may lose their homes or their livelihoods. I hope that the effects of this are not felt too harshly by anyone."
