[R1] Voting Procedures

Post by Alfred Harmsworth »

My Lords and Gentlemen,

The Honourable Gentleman, Mr. Eastward-Hart, has introduced the following Resolution for the consideration of this House:
A Resolution of the House on Voting Procedures

1. Ordinary votes (consisting of votes on resolutions and bills before the House) shall be voted on in public view by means of voice vote.
2. Extraordinary votes (consisting of votes to impeach and to amend the Constitution) and elections shall be voted on in secrecy.
Currently there are no fixed rules on the duration of debates in Parliament. Provided that there are no objections, I am choosing to interpret Part IV, Section 7 of the Instrument of Government as giving me the power to impose reasonable limits on debate insofar as is necessary to keep business moving.

Debate on this Resolution is open until the end of Friday, May 30th.

My Lords and Gentlemen,

Mr. Moore's vote is technically invalid, but as there are no official rules of order yet, I am choosing to count it. The results are therefore as follows:

AYES: 3
NOES: 0
ABSTAINING: 1

The AYES have it. This Resolution is accordingly adopted.
