List of Unparliamentary Terms

Post by Verion »

Unparliamentary language breaks the rules of politeness in Parliament. Part of the Speaker's role is to ensure that insulting or rude language is not be used. Accuse each other of lying, being drunk or misrepresenting each other's words is also something that is not accepted in Parliament.
The Speaker will direct an MP who has used unparliamentary language to withdraw it. Refusal to withdraw a comment might lead to an MP being withdrawn from the house, if necessary by force.
