Ho an Den in state schools

Post by Jonas »

The Ho An Den is a small shrine in state schools which houses a photograph or - preferably even a painting - of the Emperor of Jingdao. In the past the shrine was used to show religious devotion to the Heavenly Light, but in recent times it has become more of a place to pay respect to the Jingdaoese State and to thank the former Heavenly Lights and Emperors for their guidance of the country.

In some Jingdaoese States, like Batavia, a school is obligated to house a small building or chamber for rites and religious honouring ceremonies. In others, the practice is still done, but voluntarily.

Important characters:
Frederik Alfons des Vinandy-Paravel, King of Batavia
Joseph Bartholomeus des Vinandy-Windsor, Prince-Regent of Batavia
Jin San, Diwang of Jingdao, Duke of Kildare
