It is certainly really neat, although I have no idea who any of those people are.

They're all Fideseses.

You know how Shireroth is loosely based on Lord of the Rings and Nelaga is not-so-loosely based on Chrono Trigger? Well, Gralus hides it better than most, but they're based a lot on Dr. Who.

I think I saw an actor from Stargate Atlantis...
Important characters:

Actually, that's mostly Novatainia. Toketi is originally based off the works of Raymond Feist.

Meanwhile, the magic has its basis mostly in empirical fact.

I'd say no. Originally we got a lot of inspiration (or at least monsters) from LOTR and Heroes of Might and Magic, pinching the Dragon Rider idea off Eragon. Soon strong Pratchett influences were also felt. More recently, I've been using major Dr Who plot arcs as inspiration for some of my major plot arcs, and Fides has been using Dr Who, Stargate and various other things for inspiration for the Fideses. I wouldn't say that Dr Who is a primary base.
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave. But he does deserve a cool war ribbon.

However, this account still manages:
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn - Speaker of Nelaga, Minister of Interior Affairs, and a Micron

Fides is actually based of the Summoning Dark from Terry Pratchett's Thud.

Yes, Jonas, that would be Dr. Carson Beckett from SGA. Also among the faces are the Tenth Doctor, his companion Rose, and that one chick from KOTOR2 whose name I can't remember.

The character of Gerk ronAnaglea is dead.

Right, time to kill off some characters!
Vincent Waldgrave sat in his office, head in hands. It had certainly been a big week and he was looking forward to the peace and quiet the night afforded him. There was a quiet knock at his door and two ELMs entered. They saluted smartly and the woman dropped a bundle of letters on the Lord Generals desk.
"Mmm... Evening Kovko, Leonrad."
"Sir,"
"Sir,"
"Just some more correspondence to sign off on?"
"Yessir, we were told to wait until you've finished to save you the trouble of posting them."
"Ugh, so they're urgent, I guess?"
"The home office really knows how to push things through, don't they sir?"
"Indeed, you should probably take seats."
"Thank you sir."
Waldgrave was almost a third of the way through when the room took on a soft glow. Leonrad grabbed his rifles and sighted at the orb of gold forming in the room as Kovko stood in front of Waldgrave and knocked him under his desk. The orb burst apart and an angel with golden wings came forth from within the celestial globe. The Marines didn't lower their guns an inch.
"Vincent Waldgrave, Lord General of Gralus!"
"Mmnph?" mumbled Waldgrave from under his desk with a mouthfull of paperwork.
"We have some business to attend to."
"Indeed?" Waldgrave stood and extracted various official documents from his person in a dignified manner.
"You have been accused of harbouring known criminals within your state. As the Lord General, you have been approached to extradite them."
"Pardon me, criminals? We are a respectable nation with due criminal proceedings-"
"I refer to the Demons."
"Ahh, yes. I see... You are aware that they have defected from the service of hell?"
"Of course, but they are chronologically transcendental. Because they have, they will again. They are not creatures of time, and they must be removed."
"I'm sorry, I really cannot consider extradition in this situation."
"Thankfully, your consent is not required."
The room was completely silent. The safety catch clicked off on Kovko's rifle. No one moved.

The humans could only watch, frozen, as the angel stepped forward and slid its' sword up through Kovko's chest, into her heart.

It took several seconds to clean its' blade before dissipating. As the last of its' glow faded, time returned to the room and Kovko collapsed. Waldgrave rolled her over and shook her-

But he couldn't remember why...

-- --- -- --- --

In the Lord's Office of MANA, a man screamed out in pain as his sould was stripped from his body. No one knew how he got into Nick's office, but they were damn sure they wanted his corpse out before any necromancers declared themselves.

-- --- -- --- --

In the corridors of JASO, a screaming figure collapsed. Vando Rodreiguze, the acclaimed inventor of the Man O War ships, rushed to his side to offer first aid, but he was dead before he hit the ground.

-- --- -- --- --

The Commander of the Astral Legion gazed in astonishment at the body of a petite red-haired woman strewn across his desk. She was clutching some of the plans he'd just drawn up last night... Must have been some sort of saboteur finally taken by the defenses, oh well.

-- --- -- --- --

There is a place of pure pain. It is not Balgurd. It is the place from which there is no escape. It is not the Seven Hells. It is simply a place beyond out mortal coil without enough matter, without enough mass or space or time to keep anything in it sane.

In the whirling malestorm that is this place, there was only one though still tangible;

I'm sorry

With all the time he spent traveling it,
thought Andreas, I really don't know all that much.

Time just has a funny way of reasserting itself...

I didn't quite get the end ... (I'd also assumed the Demons had all disappeared IC when you left, but killing them off this way is fine too ;) )

Being hyper-powerful and all that, I assume Andreas would be the only being who would remember the Demons. If you mean in terms of the final thought, that was just a comment about how no amount of atonement is good enough for god, only Jesus can level your debt.

Hmm, now that I'm not off my face with sleepiness while reading it, that Last Lord thing doesn't quite fit with this, does it? I think canon-wise, we can go with the other one, because it makes more sense.

They're your characters, you are more than welcome to kill them off if you want to. Say they came back after their absence and then got killed off. I just did the disappearing thing because I thought you weren't coming back period, and we had to have some explanation for them disappearing
