While gifts are appreciated, please keep bids in the form of currency only.

    C'mon 175 ladies and gentlemen. Do I hear a 175?

The auction will soon be ending. I would most appreciate it if
either of the gentlemen making the preceding bids would outbid
the other, if only by 1 Erb.

I am considering making this the last auction for land in Montauk,
due to the low sale price. I do not want Montauk land to decrease
in value due to market fluctuations caused by these auctions.

Andreas, incidentally, this land is worth in the billions, and according
to your own x^0.35 formula the winning bid should be in the multiple
thousands of SCUE units; therefore your low-ball bids, especially in
light of the previous auction's price, are somewhat discouraging
(I mean no offense and I am sure you are simply trying to get a steal,
but perhaps you have not learned about how cosmopolitan and rich
the island of Montauk truly is?) But you can still bid higher and let
VBNC have a sprawling campus right on Montauk!

Do I hear a higher bid?

Ah, but you forget - VBNC is a business, run on rather ruthless grounds. We're only interested in what we can make a profit off, and while tight profit margins may be tolerable for some, we prefer to play a longer game. VBNC respectfully bow out of the bidding.
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave. But he does deserve a cool war ribbon.

    However, this account still manages:
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
    Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy
    Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn - Speaker of Nelaga, Minister of Interior Affairs, and a Micron

Andreas is well within his right and no doubt is making what he
considers to be a "wise" move by not bidding more. However he
is only interested in large profits as he has stated. If you want
a piece of Montauk for ego purposes, here is your chance! And
who knows, maybe you'll turn a profit on it anyway!

Last call! Do we have a higher bid than Count Ryabin? Is there a 175?

Do we have a higher bid than Count Ryabin?

When did he bid and why are you referring to his lesser title.

Count Ryker, my mistake. (The recent theatrics of
Shireroth's Minister of Trade Ryabin have clearly left a
    lasting imprint on my mind.)

Unfortunately, your introduction of gifts in this auction, brief as it was, allowed me to attach a far more valuable one in addition to the same bid amount.

Jack is hereby declared the winning bidder!

    Congratulations, Jack!

Ryker's bid was more if you take into account the wine; however,
only currency. It is a tough decision, but necessary to ensure
fairness. Both Jack and Ryker were given the opportunity to outbid the other
using currency. Thank you to all participants.

You would just change the definition like that? The reason for my doing business with you the first time was that I thought you a fair and consistent man. Alas, I am beginning to doubt your aptitude in either of those fields. What is Jack Going to do with this land anyway? I would have done something grand while maintaining the natural beauty of the forests, can you say the same for him (no offense)?

Thank you, Mr. Menlanje, I will transfer the money to you as soon as possible.

As for Ryker's complaints, I think that Mr. Melanje said quite clearly that he only accepted biddings in currency, and I think that you are being ridiculously presumptuous. If you wanted the land so badly, you should have bid more.

Turned out to be not enough, but that's not a good reason to insinuate foul play. I outbid you, deal with it.

No fowl play. It just bothers me that one minute I'm top bidder and the next he switches it up.
