A letter for the Prefect of Shirekeep

The often renovated, and not infrequently burnt, Prefectoral complex in the capital city of Shirekeep. Charged with the thankless task of civic administration in the most malodorous and ungovernable city ever conceived.

A letter for the Prefect of Shirekeep

Post by Primo de Aguilar »

A member of the Basileusan Private Guard, in full dress uniform and escorted by a similarly-dressed fellow, opened the locked briefcase that was handcuffed to his wrist. After producing a cream envelope addressed to the Prefect of Shirekeep, bearing bright purple-ribbon, with the envelope secured with a similarly-colored seal, both guards stood at attention.

The undersigned, de jure and penultimate Consul for Defense of the defunct Empire of the Alexandrians, after careful study of Imperial Decree 954, begs leave to inquire from Your Illustrious and Noble self, what process and costs are expected and necessary for the proper and legal conveyance of a certain real property and parcel of land, details of which are enclosed, the current lawful ownership of which is known, but has no further need of the property in question.

I give thanks for your kind consideration, and remain your most obedient servant.

After a prolonged wait within the Reception Hall of the Prefect's Residence, the two members of the Basileusan Private Guard are provided a letter bearing the seal of the City of Shirekeep and addressed to

His Excellency The Autokrator of Constancia

Your Excellency,

Greetings! I believe that the issue in question may be best addressed by the Office of Bounties and Factorage within the Ministry of the Interior, due to the economic nature of the matter. Furthermore, the records available from previous prefectural administrations suggest that the property in question is being held in trust by the Ministry of the Exterior until its final disposition is determined. I have forwarded copies of your letter to the appropriate ministries for your convenience.

It may please Your Excellency to know that, according to my office's last structural evaluation, the facility located at the property in question remains structurally sound.

Mira II of Octavius-Aryani
Prefect of Shirekeep,
Count Palatine of Kezan
