In consequence of the Yardistani failure to respond in any fashion to our offer as outlined it is withdrawn. Henceforth the Coordinated State of Elwynn no longer regards the Duchy of Yardistan as a functioning sovereign entity and will only negotiate with the Kingdom of Lichbrook and the Federation of Musica as the only competent parties manifested in discussions thus far.

This thread and the responses presented by Jacobus Loki have
caused my eye to twitch out of befuddlement.

May I state for the record that I am an inhabitant and citizen
of the Duchy of Yardistan, holding the title of High Reeve of Twilight
Island. In fact, I have sworn fealty to the County of M.A.S.S. of which Twilight
Island is a formally organized district and have been named as such
by Vilhelm Benkern in his capacity as the Duke of Yardistan. Therefore,
I can offer this as my sworn statement that the Duchy of Yardistan
exists as a functioning unit.


(Of course Yardistan is controlled by Musica since its Duke is the Dirigent.)

With regards to the matter at hand, the matter involving this land that
Elwynn has its eyes on, I am not in disagreement with the fact that this
land may be transferred to Elwynn--but I do think the matter needs a formal
review by someone on the Musican/Yardistani side. Dirigent Benkern,
perhaps it is time for me to be appointed your Minister of the Interior, or
whatever the musically appropriate term is.

I actually share Ardy's frustration. I proposed a workable deal, the Elwynnese responded with a counter-proposal acceptable to them...Benkern said he wanted to wait until Jake had a chance to voice his feelings and we're still waiting. The deadline came and went and nothing has happened.

Yardistan wants the Absentias back but has been little more than a bystander in these negotiations.

Without the complainant, there is no complaint, and so the matter must go on unresolved. Loki remains the Yardistani Baron of Absentia, and I'm sure the Elw governance of those northern Benacian territories will continue.
