Administration of The City

In the Autonomous District of Nee, the city is administrated by The Nee Metropolitan Police Department. As such, The Commissioner General is the defacto Mayor who administrates the other city agencies via the Public Services Bureau. Divided into individual Wards based upon population densities, the department maintains an office in each Ward. Through these Ward offices, the different units work on a local level commanded by a Lieutenant. An entire Ward itself is administrated by a Ward Captain who does everything from tend to delinquent bills to petty theft charges.

The Bureau of Order Police
These are the ubiquitous uniformed police officers who routinely patrol the streets, prevent smuggling and make arrests.

Gurka Contingent
The paramilitary wing of the department, they're generally better armed and trained than your average beat cop. They guard high-profile buildings, act as escorts and engange in crowd control and anti-terrorism.

Bureau of Inspectors
The Bureau of Inspectors are the investigators who investigate and solve crimes committed in the city limits which were not immediately witnessed and handled by any of the Order Police. These crimes include anything from theft to murder to organized crime. These men are typically transfers from the Order Police following a 10-year tour of duty.

Bureau of Public Peace
The Bureau of Public Peace manages the jail system in Nee and tends to subversive elements in the city which might otherwise cause upheaval amongst the population in the dense city.

Public Services Bureau
This is how the department interacts with the other agencies of the city. With Deputy Superintendents staffing these agencies, though separate from the department, they are under it's jurisdiction by that virtue. This is typically done through omnibus appointments by The Commissioner General.

Nice! But what about the more rural parts of the district?

That is under the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Area Patrol. They differ from the Inner City Patrol in that they patrol all of the regions outside of the actual City of Nee, which is under the jurisdiction of the Inner City Patrol. Due to very large percentage of the population of the District being in the city itself, the outlying areas do not require as vigilant and numerous a police force. Wards and their associative department offices are based upon population so you go from having a kiosk or two every block to an all-in-one building for a rural ward which might encompass many square kilometers.
