Safiria and Nick's new nation
So two new nations interested into joining Bastion. One is Safiria, CJ Miller's nation based on aliens and other cool stuff, which has always had the problem that it's never really had more than one or two citizens. The other is a new nation Einhorn (read nick112147) is thinking about starting, with an asian/mongol theme, a lot of RPing, and it'll be relatively evil. He'd like to start it on Bastion. Links to application above, also see discussion in the situation room which you should all have access to.
If anyone has strong feelings either way, voice them. Otherwise I'm happy to vote in favour for both.
On an unrelated note, Gilles Melang managed to annoy Ari and some other Bastionados enough to get banned, then Shireroth politely asked for him to be allowed back in for them, and then for other nations. He's never done anything to annoy/hurt us and I would think our OOC policy is acceptance if at all possible. Raise objections in this thread (which has established that this is an OOC matter), otherwise I'll let him back in.

The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave. But he does deserve a cool war ribbon.

Re: Safiria and Nick's new nation
After discussions in the Situation Room, I change my support for Safiria to the position of granting them some sort of associate member status, designed for one-man/undeveloped nations.

Re: Safiria and Nick's new nation
How would "associate member status" in any way be different than full status? It's not like there is an official Bastion government in any way. Being hosted here is all that matters; they either have that or they don't.

Shh, others haven't noticed that fact Also, it would mean they wouldn't be able to vote on new member applications.

Re: Safiria and Nick's new nation
I get the point about not really allowing one-member entities to have a weighted vote on admitting new members, but perhaps that's an indicator that Bastion is becoming too systematic? Should we, instead, WHEN NECESSARY, have citizens of the member nations vote individually?
And I know, this is entirely the wrong forum for this. I have no objections to anything mentioned here. In fact, just count me in as agreeing to whatever the hell you want, as long as it keeps Bastion running and non-governmental.

Actually, you make a good point, which is basically exactly the point I made when we first started discussing this whole thing back at the very start of Bastion. Let's see if anybody else likes it.

Re: Safiria and Nick's new nation
Is there a way to make sure that a "person" votes once? If s/he belongs to five nations, they shouldn't get five votes.Should we, instead, WHEN NECESSARY, have citizens of the member nations vote individually?
(Of course, it would come out that we are only 3 individuals with massive multi-personality disorder)

Re: Safiria and Nick's new nation
There's an easy way to make each person only vote once - by having them post a vote publicly in the relevant thread, rather than having a say in the vote of five different nations which is what currently happens.

And if it's being taken care of in a single central thread, then there's no longer the problem of having to flip through multiple forums to figure out exactly what people's objections are.
