Likely similarly to arcane magic.

And if magic will be as taboo as you suggest it will be, it'll probably end up being de jure illegal as a political maneuver.

It depends on how easily you can convince people that they don't operate on the same principles as magic, and even then, there'll be some knee-jerk bad reactions to it. But really that's up to you.

For reference, this is the territory I'd like to retain from Novatainia/VBNC's stuff.

Image

While I've put a VBNC symbol in place of the flag, I just think of that as an internal thing - on the MCS map I think it would make most sense for this to be the same territory colour as Toketi, probably just with the stripy lines for 'Satellite State' - functionally separate, but VBNC wouldn't be maintaining an active diplomatic/military presence like a full state (well, maybe a private defence force, but nothing too big), it just wants to be outside direct Tokish control, and particularly tax free. That and I'm sure I'll be around commenting on/getting involved in Tokish stuff, so we might as well pool our limited posts into one 'nation' so the MCS doesn't get angsty that we're not posting enough.

Ok, so here's what I'm thinking:

Image

Might be a little ambitious, considering I'm trying to claim Ghawlama and Lontinien (a bonus for Ric, and also I've wanted to control that entire waterway for years)

Also, dear lord it's been a long time since I played with a map, this is some messy shit.

Any nation I am a citizen of claiming more land is supported by me. That means
I wholeheartedly support Nova Toketi claiming all the lands in the map above that
are colored in blue. Also, Your Excellency, if you are worried about the financial
details of supporting a vast empire, you and I should have a little chat. :doc: I
think you will find that regional domination is much less expensive than one might
imagine! :madviking:

Yeah, that's what I thought you were saying. Giving the large reduction in Novatainian land and little bits like Chelkra and Laranel, I think we should be able to get it.

Honourable Friends,
I hope that Toketi will open its borders to allow merchants of the Island Kingdom access. Perhaps even start a small trade colony in Ghawlana (which seems to be an excellent meeting point)?

We also hope that, with the re-establishment of the government, we can together bring a definite halt to the pirates who attacked the merchant ships in the Antican Sea.

Rielrar, being the capital, is in its own special territory, as I recall.

I think it was reorganized a while back such that Rielrar, Krerdar, and Störyash, along with all those other islands, were grouped up as the Bay of Eminence territory.

Uh, I guess once everything is sorted out, that'll all be its own Duchy along with the other 5 traditional Duchies.

I only gave it that name because I couldn't find a name for the area, and it didn't belong with any of the other duchies, and I had to call it something. Feel free to come up with something better. I never liked it much.
