Some signs read "Keep Elwynn Human!", others praise the Khan for his wisdom and others slander the Baron of Tirlar for his naivete. All present in Einhornstorget were unified in support of the latest, and most controversial, proposal in the Elwynnese senate - The Act on the Rights of the Natural Person. The otherwise innocuous title belies it's true nature, going so far as to define who is and is not defined as a legal person under which the rights afforded to the Elwynnese apply. While The Prince and Lord Erion are uncharacteristically aligned against the bill, comparing its concepts to those of the Elfnishi, our Grand Marshal and the Khan of Vijayanagara (the author of the proposal) are aligned in favor of it's passage into law.
Our Grand Marshal was quoted, during his lengthy speech to the Senate, as saying
"It is for the benefit of Elwynn's legal system as a whole to ensure that such important, yet ambiguous, terms be clearly defined" and -
"I readily understand that this is a very controversial proposal, this much I can admit. But we, as Senators, are charged with the duty to face such controversy head on as the guides of the Elwynnese nation"
Conversely, Lord Erion was quoted as saying "[...]this Bill exceeds the scope of that which it purports to relate, and thus, being abhorrent to all natural persons [...]"
Several Colonels and even Brigadiers of the National Association for Civil Development were seen throughout the crowd today, passing out enlistment pamphlets, voicing their own support for both the Grand Marshal and the Khan's proposal. Around 18:00, the crowd peaked out at roughly 10,000, with many central streets filled with supporters, spectators, police and NACD personnel. Smaller crowds were reported throughout the city and in many other cities as well. The proposal is seen by many members of the public of not only rooting out ambiguity in the legal system, but also ensuring the safety of humanity.
One woman was quoted as saying "The justice system is loaded up enough as it is, we don't need people going around using loopholes because of some damn Eliria liberal's opinion that lawyers can just use a bloody dictionary. Fuck that!".
A elderly man was quoted as saying "Just who the hell do they think they are? Keep the damned place human!"
The debate is still early and three Senators have yet to weigh in. As to whether or not it will pass, it is too early to tell, however, the NACD of Normark and large sectors of the public seem to be in favor of the highly controversial proposal. Several higher ranking officers of the NACD and Normarksgarde made speeches throughout the day to enthusiastic crowds. The most rousing of which was High Marshal Kjeldahl, who delivered a twenty minute speech on the subjects of human rights, humanity, the history of the Derge, human oppression at the hands of other species and ensuring that humanity remains the dominant force of Micras. The phrase - "Let human beings govern and dwell within human realms and let all others govern and dwell within their own. Elwynn is a human realm" - garnered many cheers and much applause. Several others spoke as well, in other towns and cities, but High Marshal Kjeldahl was one of the high points of the Act Rallies, as they're being called by local media.
Grand Marshal Einhornsson, still in Eliria on Senate business, hadn't made any appearances yet in Normark, but was expected to return to Konungsheim within the next 48 hours. He has already scheduled a public appearance, but it's exact date and place has yet to be announced to the public.
