It's not a live map, it's not Dynamap. It's Minecraft Overviewer. New system will be that this will be updated every Friday. It's a big map (as you can probably tell), so the rendering process takes time. On the other hand, Overviewer is set up so that future renders will only update areas that have been changed.

This first map is rendered with the Babkhan Custom texturepack. I can have it make additional renderings in smooth lighting, cave (I think), night-time, different texturepacks, etc. The Nether is even a possibility. If I do that, those will be accessible with some buttons in the corner.

Another benefit to this map, other than how amazing it looks, is that we can now make reference to coordinates when directing someone's attention to an area of the map, instead of the old system of "The Middle Left above the Thing".

A third benefit, which I still need to figure out, is that Point Of Interest signs can be posted, which means that it can be labelled.

Not really. And I can't update it when I'm away from home.

The map is weird. It doesn't show basalt bricks at all, nor wool covers. Wool subblocks are shown as wood.

Yeah. I wish it would, but it only can render the vanilla blocks.
