TO ALL AND SINGULAR to whom these Presents shall come, Her Majesty the Queen of Brookshire sends greeting!
LET IT BE KNOWN that we, Anthrazita, Queen of Brookshire, Marchioness of Modan-Lach, Baroness of Hamlet, Lichgravine of Overdolor, Countess of Caverden and Woodshire, do by these Presents decree that the Kingdom of Brookshire shall be constituted in accordance with the following Basic Law:
Chapter 1: General Provisions
Article 1
The official name of this realm is the Kingdom of Brookshire.
Article 2
The Kingdom of Brookshire is a hereditary constitutional monarchy ruled by Anthrazita Leijchwittchen of the House of Rossheim-Maltenstein.
Article 3
The Kingdom of Brookshire acknowledges the suzerainty of the Kaiser of the Imperial Republic of Shireroth.
Article 4
The Kingdom of Brookshire consists of the territories of Caverden, Crestfall Downs, Kralizec, Lywind, Modan-Lach, Monty Crisco, Shimmerspring, Woodshire and Ž.
Article 5
The Kingdom of Brookshire is one and indivisible and its boundaries are inviolable.
Article 6
The winter capital of the Kingdom of Brookshire is Brookshire Hamlet. The summer capital is Maltenstein.
Chapter 2: The Monarchy and Governance of the Realm
Article 7
The monarchy is hereditary within the House of Rossheim-Maltenstein.
Article 8
In addition to any personal titles she may possess, the monarch is styled Queen of Brookshire, Marchioness of Modan-Lach and Baroness of Hamlet, with the qualification of Majesty.
Article 9
The person of the monarch is sacred and inviolable.
Article 10
The monarch possesses supreme executive and legislative authority and no law may come into effect without her personal approval.
Article 11
The monarch issues decrees for the governance of the realm.
Article 12
The monarch appoints and dismisses ministers and other royal officials.
Article 13
The monarch is counselled by the Kehl, an advisory assembly consisting of the eminent men and women of the realm.
Article 13.1
Members of the Kehl are appointed by the monarch and are entitled to use the post-nominal letters MK.
Article 13.2
The monarch may bestow upon subjects of particular distinction the non-hereditary noble rank of Lord of the Kehl, or Lady of the Kehl if the recipient is female. Lords and Ladies of the Kehl are entitled to use the post-nominal letters LK and rank with, but not as, Barons of Shireroth.
Chapter 3: Local Administration
Article 14
The Kingdom of Brookshire is organised into the following subdivisions:
(i) The Lichgraviate of Overdolor;
(ii) The County of Monty Crisco;
(iii) The Royal Provinces of Modan-Lach and Ž;
(iv) The Provinces of Crestfall Downs, Kralizec, Lywind and Shimmerspring.
Article 15
The Lichgraviate of Overdolor is a hereditary palatine jurisdiction consisting of the territories of Caverden and Woodshire. It is held by Anthrazita Leijchwittchen of Rossheim-Maltenstein, who has the titles Lichgravine of Overdolor, Countess of Caverden and Woodshire.
Article 16
The County of Monty Crisco is a hereditary palatine jurisdiction held by Erik Mortis, who has the title Count of Monty Crisco.
Article 17
The Royal Provinces of Modan-Lach and Ž are administered directly by the monarch.
Article 18
The Provinces of Crestfall Downs, Kralizec, Lywind and Shimmerspring are administered by Provincial Governors appointed by the monarch.
Article 18.1
Provincial Governors rank with, but not as, Counts of Shireroth and have the authority to develop their provinces both culturally and economically, provided the development is not deemed prejudicial to the interests of the realm.
Article 18.2
Any Provincial Governor found guilty of attempting or contemplating an act of rebellion shall immediately and automatically forfeit their governorship. Only the monarch may reinstate a former governor who has been deprived of office in this manner.
Chapter 4: Armed Forces
Article 19
The monarch is commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the realm.
Article 20
As commander-in-chief, the monarch may raise and maintain such military and paramilitary forces as may be deemed necessary for the defence of the realm.
Article 21
Aside from the monarch, only the Lichgravine of Overdolor and the County of Monty Crisco may raise or maintain private military and paramilitary forces.
Article 21.1
Any inhabitant of the realm who attempts to raise or maintain military or paramilitary forces without proper authorisation shall be deemed to have committed an act of rebellion.
Chapter 5: Official and National Languages
Article 22
English is the official language of the realm.
Article 23
Laqi has the status of a national language.
Chapter 6: Symbols of the Realm
Article 24
The flag of the Kingdom of Brookshire is a horizontal bicolour of maroon over navy blue. The width of the flag is two-thirds of its length and the two stripes are of equal width.
Article 25
The coat of arms of the Kingdom of Brookshire is blazoned as follows: Per Pale Murrey and Azure a Skull between two Sabres Argent; for a Crest, upon a Barred Helm Affronty Or a Royal Crown Proper; Mantling Sable and Ermine; For Supporters, on the dexter side a Knight Proper and on the sinister side a Woodwose Proper each holding a Banner Per Fess Murrey and Azure fringed Or and tasselled Murrey Argent and Azure.
Chapter 7: Amendments to the Basic Law
Article 26
The Basic Law may be changed or amended only by the monarch.
