Re: Forum Request
All set up! An admin with FTP access will need to upload your flag, however.

Done.
Re: Forum Request
Thank you, all! I appreciate the quick assistance.
I was wondering if I could also receive some help concerning a forum theme. I found one which I like:
http://demo.phpbb3styles.net/imperium
However, obviously the Roman busts, soldiers, and header are not exactly kosher with an "Constitutional America" theme. I am wondering if said theme is even compatible with our board, and how hard it is exactly to change the pictures and logo (i.e., more than just Paint and Photoshop)?

Re: Forum Request
It's compatible. Anything for phpbb3 will work.

Re: Forum Request
The images can be edited in any old raster image editor, but Photoshop is probably your best bet for making the replacements look good. (Though I've had success with Paint.NET as well.)

Re: Forum Request
OK. Would it at all be possible to use the "Imperium" theme above (without the Roman soldiers), and this as the banner:
And would it also be possible to change the thumbnail flag to the following:
Any and all help would be appreciated!

Meep?
My apologies, don't mean to push our glorious admins too far. I know things are nutty this time a year, and Bastion isn't the top priority. Just making sure nothing gets lost in the flood.

Re: Forum Request
I just got back from vacation, so am only starting to work on this now.
There are a couple factors here that make the images you provided not compatible with the theme:
1. Your modifications lose the transparency of the image's background. This needs to be maintained in order for the various overlapping to work properly.
2. Modified images should be kept at the same size as the originals. They also require that the same transparent qualities be kept (such as the background being transparent - especially for icons).
The new banner, for example, is far too big to fit on the page, and will throw everything else off in alignment.

Re: Forum Request
I've installed and applied the imperium theme to Astoria.
I have not made a lot of effort to modify the images; I fixed the top and bottom border images, the site logo is there as a filler until a new one is made, also made a birthday icon similar to the one posted.
Other images will either need to be redone by yourself, or wait until I have time to work on them, which may be a while.

Re: Forum Request
Wow, I thank you for your efforts thus far! you have been more than helpful, and more than patient, with my various requests.
The images I can live with, as I think just getting rid of the Roman soldiers was the big thing I wanted to do (for obvious reasons). My thing is just to get the theme up and going, update the thumbnail flag to the new flag, and just have that neo-classical 19th Century feel in Astoria.
Is there an certain scale size for the banner? I didn't know if it shrank on its own, or if there are certain dimensions it must meet (which I should have figured). Also, the theme just seems to fall away after you move from the front page, if this is a glich.
Again, I thank you for the help with everything, and I am happy to do what I can to make the process easier for you.

Both issues should be fixed now.Gaius wrote:The images I can live with, as I think just getting rid of the Roman soldiers was the big thing I wanted to do (for obvious reasons). Try this as a template. Use the outlined area as a guide and place whatever title/images you want in it. I can then make the site logo (which is more restricted in size) a blank transparent image. Keep the format as a PNG and try not to alter the transparent attributes. Is there an certain scale size for the banner? Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! It all looks great! I am eternally appreciative of your help.
Would this do for the banner?

Re: Forum Request
I've added it but there's a glitch I can't fix that puts a line down the center.
Only other option I can offer is that you limit your banner size to 397x86px.

*Administrative Note*
As Gaius hasn't been around in a month now, leaving Astoria somewhat stillborn, I have moved it to the archives. If he fails to return and reclaim it within another month or so I will be purging it (and the phpbb style) from the system to reduce server usage.
