He said a good one, not a typical oneMaximilian Barsk wrote:A dead one.
A good Micras nation is one whose culture evolves over time from several sources into something unique, instilling a sense of identity and belonging among its citizens. It's why I came back here after a 5 year absence because that little bit of Shirerithian in me wouldn't go away. It's why 'Babkhan' and 'Antican' are still widely used terms for people, ideologies and methods despite those nations having officially expired.
I'd say a minimum of three dedicated citizens is required to make this happen. A one man project pulling in nothing but jaded multi-citters is essentially doomed to failure. You may get away with less if the whole Archipelago/Green/whatever concept can be made to work, but the whole thing's an organic process which actively defies the application of method, so even that isn't certain.
tl/dr: Culture mainly, but meh.

Re: Your Thoughts
Culture is such a vague concept though. Is it culture to post pictures by someone else and claim they are of your city? Is it culture to make long posts about something that no one reads? Is it culture to make elaborate political systems? Is it culture to make your own religion? This is not a negative post, I just consider "culture" in the micronational context to be the most difficult concept to define. Along with "activity" possibly.
Re: Your Thoughts
Activity: Five unique posts per day constituting constructive or useful comment.
Culture: Something you wanted to write that someone else wanted to read.
Does this place fail by those benchmarks? Who can say...

Why five per day? That sounds like an arbitrary number.

Re: Your Thoughts
Haifa has 7 active to very active citizens and 3 semi active. In 3 and 1/2 weeks we have made over 550 posts. I am more looking for what sets nations like Shireroth apart from the rest?

Re: Your Thoughts
Culture doesn't have to be something that somebody wants to read. Case in point.

Re: Your Thoughts
Can we please have Micrasian benign fundamentalist cults? They're either too mainstream or violent deathcults it seems. I dunno. B'Caw's Witnesses?
Re: Your Thoughts
Who is B'Caw? Oh yeah, almighty creator who has been telling us the world is going to end soon for the last 1,970 years. Right.

B'Caw is more than pretty cool - he's burning hot.

Oh, I dunno. That approach seems to work with CraitlandKrasniy Yastreb wrote:A one man project pulling in nothing but jaded multi-citters is essentially doomed to failure.
Re: Your Thoughts
A god that is both pretty cool and burning hot at the same time is a great god indeed hitherto thou.

Of course it is an arbitrary number, but if you ain't got the throughput, you're fucked (in the non-recreationally stimulating sense).Maximilian Barsk wrote:Why five per day? That sounds like an arbitrary number.
