Tomb of Gaelen

Post by Jonas »

Kaiser Gaelen IV had always been a man which uphold the Apollonian tradition of living with the luxury of a french king. He loved large palaces and monuments, large squares with huge fountains and statues remembering His rule and that of other Kaisers. His long reign had given Him the opportunity to rebuild Shirekeep into a city of marble which often surprised and impressed tourists and visitors when they arrived with the airplane, by ship or just by the road.

His last work had been His lifework: a place where he could live for eternity and travel from the Divine Realm to a nifty home in the mortal realm. This last great monument was build by two different architects: Fides was asked to design the outside of the tomb, while Nathan of Natopia was asked for designing the inside of the Tomb. The result was, in Gaelen's eyes, marvellous and he knew that he could die in peace. His burial ceremony, first planned as a big festivity, was changed into a private ceremony by some priests under pressure of the political chaos which had followed upon His death.
The design of the tomb was kept secret for years, but is nowadays once again made public to the eyes of some of the important members of the government in the hope that it will inspire them.

The Tomb of Gaelen wasn't build in the capital itself, but just like Magni I, the Kaiser was burried in the Valley of Mors, to the north of Shirekeep.

That's the spirit! :)

Of course, the builders in Sakatopolis (a little village with a temple, which is the only entrance to the Valley of Mors) are happy to help you a hand, Nathan.
Which reminds me that I need to update the map of the Valley...
