Epistemology in Aryashti Philosophy

Post by Aryeztur »

Epistemology is the study of what constitutes knowledge and what are valid sources for the acquisition of knowledge. The philosophers of Aryasht have generally agreed that only the following sources of knowledge are valid for Aryashti philosophy.

1. Empirical Knowledge, Perception, Experience

2. Reason, Logic, Rationality

3. Authority from a valid source which somehow has to be derived from the above two

Really? I'm all for it, but it seems out of character for Aryasht to completely reject revelation or mystical experience as valid sources of knowledge.

Isn't that number 3? A mystical experience is by definition something that's been experienced (number 1) by someone and a revelation is empirical knowledge- direct knowledge and experience of talking to the divine.
