Guilds: A Framework for your trade

Post by Thadeus Laing »

Perhaps you are a graphic designer, web designer, lawyer, accountant, musician, street busker, etc. Tradesmen and professionals alike are encouraged to form and join a Guild. Please submit to us the name of your profession and a name of members to create a Guild. All your guild must do is follow the rules on Guilds in the Lawbook:
Section H: Guilds
Subsection 1: Recognition

A system of guilds shall be introduced in Shireroth. Any specific area of economic activity may apply to the Ministry of Trade to be recognised as a guild.
Subsection 2: Rights and Limitations

a. Guilds will be limited to a specific area of economic activity, but within that area are allowed to require qualifications for membership with a basic framework drawn up by the Ministry of Trade. Guild members are also the only people allowed to charge for the service they render.
b. If membership qualifications are deemed excessive by the Ministry of Trade they may be changed by the Ministry.
Subsection 3: Disbanding

If at any point Guild has no remaining members, it will be disbanded.
Sincerely,

Giles Melang
Minister of Trade

I'd like to have the Mango Bar recognised again. old forum, old request to merge boards (implying Guild status). Members are myself and Andreas, willing to receive evidence from anyone who thinks they were a member previously. Allot has changed 'characters' but still has a right to membership; Mike's departed but if he likes he can be an 'honorary member' (Not sure if he'd want to be).

Malliki should yell "FOR PONY!!!" in a giant font more often. I think he'd get himself across more accurately and reliably that way.

I was trying to become a member but was stopped cold by the fact that the bar exam is out of date.

All that I had planned for was for a sticky thread listing each
guild.

However, due to the reputation of the Mango Bar institution
I am making a request for it to have a subforum. Moreover,
I am making a request for a "Guilds" subforum, so
that all guilds may earn this privilege.

You know, you don't need to press enter in the middle of sentences.

MODERATOR Comment: I have observed in real life as well
as in micro-nationalism among the wise a tendency to pay close
attention to the shape of the writing. By that I do not mean the
grammar or the spelling or even the content, but rather the
arrangement of the words and paragraphs on the page. My writing
shape of writing is in reflection of my observation of their writings.

You see, as a Melangian who strives to be wise, I intentionally structure
my paragraphs in blocks rather than strings of text, because blocks
are the component of buildings, and buildings can be great edifices
that house immense wealth and knowledge. When faced with
the choice between to converse or to convince, I have chosen to convince
and that is reflected in my writing. It can be more time consuming
and more work at times, but as Minister of Trade, it is my responsibility,
after all, to convince. -- Sincerely, Giles Melang
