Administrative Order G-001: Issuance of the Imperial Tax

Administrative Order G-001: Issuance of the Imperial Tax

The majority of public opinion is in favor of a tax to replenish our Treasury. Having reviewed the Lawbook, I am confident that I have the power to promulgate the following tax.

A 10% tax shall henceforth be levied on all Shirerithian-based bank accounts (active or inactive) per month. Exceptions to this tax: charitable organizations, religious organizations, government entities, and hardship cases (exceptions to be granted by the Ministry on a case-by-case basis).

After making sure my account was based in Nelaga, I and my 5k funds that never do anything sneer at your tax plan.

You can always invest the money in Elwynnese bank accounts if you want to avoid taxes :)

I...what? You did this without either the permission of the legislature or myself, the Kaiser! Not cool!

I revoke this decision immediately.

Your Niftiness, The permission of the Landraad or Your Niftiness is not required for me to promulgate this tax.
Lawbook Chapter XI: Economy, Section G: Taxation, Subsection 1: Authority to Levy Taxes wrote:
a. The Kaiser, Minister of Trade and Landsraad all have the authority to levy taxes upon citizens or Houses of the land.
b. The patron of a house may levy taxes upon those within their house.
c. Those holding a land in fief may levy taxes upon any who reside within their lands.
However, I think, that as Kaiser you can override my decisions. Therefore I respect and acknowledge that you revoke this tax. I had thought Zir were in favor, Your Niftiness, of a tax to replenish the Imperial Treasury, or I would not have approved it. I am sorry for mistaking Zir sentiments and beg mercy.

Scott, due to His Niftiness's decision, I must deny your request to send the Imperial Treasury the 733 Erb. I do not have access to the Imperial Treasury account myself as of this time; however, Kaiser Wythe I does, so the denial of the send transaction request will be up to Zir. You may resend the money as a donation to the Imperial Treasury if you want.

The use of a gender neutral pronoun is really unnecessary when the gender of the person being referred to is known.

You fellows are letting your dislike of this tax, or perhaps the Minister, get in the way of a very Shirerithian practice. The use of Zir is never to be abhorred in Shireroth.

10%? That sounds unreasonable and I can't understand why the government needs to tax that much. If such meassures like this repeat themselves in the future, without any discussions between the Minister and the Landsraad, I will also move my money to somewhere else. I want to know the reason of a tax, and I thought we had plenty of money (at least enough to avoid that 10% should be asked from the people).

In that case, you're not paying attention. The treasury is down to 10-15,000 Erb or something.

Despite the opinions of whoever updated the wiki, it sounds utterly moronic.

I tend to default to female pronouns when making legal documents personally.

He's getting better, at least he's not using "zie" as a second-person pronoun anymore. At least not in this thread anyway. That was the only thing that really annoyed me. Occasionally lapsing into "zie" when you do know the gender of the person you're referring to but are at least referring to zir in the third person... it looks a bit silly, but at least it's not horribly, horribly wrong.

I'm probably partially responsible for the continuing use of "zie" in Shireroth. Scott's been doing it but I don't think he would have kept at it for a decade all by himself.

I don't consider that an emergency that big to let tax payers pay 10%.
