Turkmenistan has gone down in my estimation since the passing of Our Lord the Radiant Sun Farzan Shahanshah Turkmenbashi.

Dentist in Turkmenistan, doctor in Syria, Papa Doc d'Haiti... what makes healthcare professionals essentially tyrannical? Is it the utilitarian ruthlessness? Scott has much to answer for.

Judging by Raikoth, Scott would make an interesting dictator.

Apparently, Radovan Karadžić was a psychiatrist educated in Sarajevo, New York and Copenhagen. Wikipedia says:
During his spell as an ecologist, he declared that "Bolshevism is bad, but nationalism is even worse".
Karadžić had been masquerading as a "new age" expert in alternative medicine. He lectured in front of hundreds of people on alternative medicine. He had his own website, where he offered his assistance in the treatment of sexual problems and disorders by using what he called "Human Quantum Energy".
I'll never laugh at the the Green Party ever again...

Don't forget the opthalmologist Bashar al-Assad of Syria, and does Salvador Allende of Chile count?

My wife has worked in healthcare for roughly 20 years - having seen some of the insanity she has to deal with, it's not surprising that doctor's make the most tyrannical dictators. Their behavior in the hospital wards isn't much better.

Son of a hospital anesthesiologist, can confirm.

Does a particular mind go into the work or does the work create that?

I say the work. If he treats some poor kid paralyzed from the neck down after some super unlikely wacky trampoline shenanigans, BAM! not allowed on trampolines.

My dad once got hospitalized because he smashed his toe at work. No, not hospitalized because of the toe itself. He's allergic to most kinds of medicine. Nurse didn't believe him. She had to clean up his almost constant vomiting and crapping. Karma. :demon:

So... tyrannical? Yes. Smart? yes. Wise? Not necessarily.
It is from our fruitful hands that we will make this nation perennial with fate.
