Upon reaching the hilltop...

Jasonian Aeronautics and Space Organization. A technology / vehicle development group. JASO was founded in the summer of 2000 during the great Golden Age of the FIoJ and has been serving the sector for over a decade. From civilian to military use, the smallest robotic vehicle to the most terrifying behemoth gravships, the fastest fighters to immobile research complexes, and the realistically possible to the "oh come on, there's no way that would work!", JASO does it it all. Owned by the Nelagan government with a Shirerithian minority controling share, but willing to work on joint projects with other-like minded groups for the common good.

Upon reaching the hilltop...

Post by Taurus Zeene »

Upon reaching the hilltop, Taurus was able to see over the entire city of Ankstrum. Ankstrum, in the far northernmost arctic reaches of Willow, was a very flat town that was laid out in a very grid-like fashion. The city lights made the city look like a gigantic arcade game. The lone cars out this late at night, police cars and taxis, traversed this grid like slow moving laser pulses underneath a sky of stars and smog.

Moving then out of the west in the sky was something with a flashing light. It then stopped directly on top of him. Taurus took his e-binoculars and zoomed in. It was the satellite.

He looked to his right and saw the grape vines hanging from the wooden posts as he had been told to do several days earlier. Hidden in the dirt was a transponder, a tiny square box with a small basic cheap calculator style LCD screen and a single button. On screen was a message:

"Press the button if you see the satellite."

Taurus pressed the button. The message changed to a new message, which scrolled on the screen:

Code: Select all

"We have received your confirmation. Here is the message: 23545-41-B. We have received your confirmation. This transponder will self-destruct in 10 minutes. Please stand back 5 m.
We have received your confirmation. Here is the message: 23545-41-B. We have received your confirmation. This transponder will self-destruct in 10 minutes. Please stand back 5 m.
We have received your confirmation. Here is the message: 23545-41-B. We have received your confirmation. This transponder will self-destruct in 10 minutes. Please stand back 5 m.
...and so on
Taurus scribbled down the message, 23545-41-B, then dropped the transponder and ran down the hill. Ten minutes later, nearing the base of the hill, not a direct route due to numerous switchbacks he had no choice but to take, he saw a flash at the top of the hill. It was a small explosion.[/i]
