Short service for Queenland flood victims

Post by Alfred Dunholm »

I apologise if this service is a bit brief, however having finished work not long ago at 1am and bearing in mind that i have to be awake at 7 I have been a bit pushed for time.

Dear Lord, at this difficult time for those living in the Australian State of Queensland we pray that you would grant comfort and strength to all those affected. Safeguard particularly at this time those who cannot protect themselves from the disaster as well as most others can; whether it be due to age, illness or any other factors. At this time we call to mind especially those members of the Micronational community who live in Queensland, recalling by name Andreas and the two citizens of “A1” who are caught up in the chaos. Comfort the people of Queensland in their distress and give courage to those working tirelessly to assist the vulnerable, we pray that the rebuilding process may be swift and that we may learn from this disaster to prevent such an occurrence in the future if we possibly can. All this we ask in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Prince of peace and our only hope and salvation. Amen

The following verse if from the Irish hymn "Be Thou my vision" and I've often found it to be somewhat inspiration in times of trouble so I include it now;
Be thou my breastplate, my sword for the fight;
be thou my whole armor, be thou my true might;
be thou my soul's shelter, be thou my strong tower:
O raise thou me heavenward, great Power of my power.

Amen. Thankyou.
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave. But he does deserve a cool war ribbon.

My frenchspeaking friends in Wallonia are also having problems with the flood. Not as serious as in Queenland, though.

Amen.
