Resolution on Memoralizing the Demise of Kolya Radchenko

Post by Matt Kovac »

Proposed Motion from The Ocian Federation

Just hours ago the Ocian People were informed of the most tragic and untimely demise of one of our most respected Military leaders and Prime Minister, Kolya Radchenko. With the late Kolya Radchenko’s heroic deeds towards the Antifascist movement on Micras in mind, the Ocian Federation would like to herby propose that the Micras Treaty Organization hold a one day memorial period in remembrance of the late Kolya Radchenko. We ask that all member states of the MTO consider this proposal considering that Ocia prides its membership in the MTO as being a great accomplishment in the realm of foreign relations.

The Ocian Federation does request that this be held on Tuesday January 9, 2012.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Marshal Radchenko; he was an instrumental and vocal statesman who strongly opposed the imperialist aggression and fascism that existed on Micras. The embodiment of his contributions to this struggle was during the Great Patriotic War Against Fascism (which some of you may know as simply the ‘Amokolia war’) that occurred in the fall of 2008.

thank you

Honourable Representatives to the MTO:

The delegation of Elwynn, Amokolia and Hurmu wishes to pay its respects to Kolya Radchenko as it remembers his steadfast love for his people, his home and his beliefs.

(As you wish to play this in-character, I will accordingly respond.)

His Imperial Majesty's Government of the Empire of the Alexandrians is disgusted and appalled to see any attempt made to commemorate the man responsible for attempting to incite racial hatred on an international scale, the enforced deportation of his own citizens of a particular race to a remote island and their subsequent abandonment, and the deliberate and co-ordinated destruction of every place of worship of a particular faith, and who demonstrated a continued and unrelenting disregard for the rule of law (condoning the summary execution of both myself and the First Consul of Alexandria) and a tendency to regularly engage in homophobic "humour".

Alexandria should act with discretion especially when addressing the contributions of Kolya during these memorial days. This slander is an absolute new low and will not go unanswered Mr. Zambelis. Anyone can see that such a thread is not one for some people to create facts and settle old scores and I will not allow you to besmirch Kolya's name, any descent person would realize this fact.

(OOC: I am unclear whether this is announcing the death of someone's character or an actual person, please read the following with that in mind)

I do not believe the MTO is an appropriate forum for commemorating fallen national heroes. The condolence book you have invited people to sign in your own foreign ministry should suffice. I do, however, express my condolences for the loss of your friend and countryman.

Gralus also echo the sentiments, and express our sincere condolences for the loss of Kolya.
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave. But he does deserve a cool war ribbon.

Just on the off chance that anyone chose to take Kovac seriously, allow me to present:
attempting to incite racial hatred on an international scale (and some more), the the enforced deportation of his own citizens of a particular race to a remote island and their subsequent abandonment, and the deliberate and co-ordinated destruction of every place of worship of a particular faith, and a continued and unrelenting disregard for the rule of law (condoning the summary execution of both myself and the First Consul of Alexandria) and a tendency to regularly engage in homophobic "humour" (on several occasions).

I am not creating facts but stating them. For words to be slanderous the person they are allegedly slandering must have a reputation to defend. That is all.

Ocian Ministry of Exterior Responds to the Shameless Unethical Practices of Alexandria
Image

The Ocian people were deeply revolted and enraged by the comments of Alexandria’s first consul who shamelessly besmirched the character of Ocia’s most respected and beloved Kolya Radchenko during our period of mourning.

For the people of the micronational world and of Micras who wish to know why the so-called ‘empire’ of Alexandria would carry out such a disgraceful outburst we will explain. Throughout 2008 Alexandria’s Enrique Carrillo who was at the time “Dauphin” spearheaded an NIA conspiracy, (with the consent of Alexandria’s emperor) to take over the political mechanisms of the Ocian Federation and hack into the Ocian forums and destroy them under the cover of the pseudonym Edward Simms. His half successful plan began with him rigging Ocia’s 2008 parliamentary elections (as a candidate of the now defunct libertarian party) to facilitate the plot. Before Alexandria’s Dauphin could hack into and delete Ocia’s forums to hide his trail (and blame another member of the micronational community for the ordeal) his true identity was discovered thanks to the help of other concerned members of the micronational community and he was expelled. This along with other shameful activities carried out by Alexandria’s NIA were so disgraceful and utterly humiliating that the government of Alexandria was forced to disband the group.

Over the years since then, various Alexandrians such as Mr. Zambelis have attempted to carry out retribution for this public humiliation with no success. This has included another equally shameful plan to De-legitimize the rightful Ocian government and ‘hand over’ land to Ashkenatza along with another plot to sabotage proposals that Ocia had with other Micronations regarding the possibility of merging or forming a new Federation. The time Mr. Zambelis spent in the Ocia he seemingly hated so much organizing the East Ocian puppet regime goes without mention.

So it is quite simple to see why Alexandria’s first counsel would make such distasteful remarks while we are genuinely memorializing Kolya, and it is also evident why the First Consul and his little corporal are so preoccupied with toiling with anything that has to do with Ocia.

The Ocian Federation is warning Alexandria to use the utmost discretion when addressing the memory of Kolya. Should they even commit one more hostile move they will be answered with a one hundredfold response.

Shouldn't this be on the floor of the General Assembly? The First Consul's Office (i.e my office) will be issuing a statement on the matter and publishing it in the MTO's lobby area.

The Antican Republic echoes the statement by the Secretary-General. We also do not wish for the MTO to become yet another forum for petty disputes.

Just non-petty ones? But that then obviously opens up the debate on whether all disputes are inherently petty?

The Ocian Federation will be working closely with our colleagues on Micras to draft a resolution regarding ethics, the use of HUMINT and hacking forums. We also will be demanding a full apology for Alexandria's shameful behavior both recently and in the past.

Shireroth supports discussion of "a resolution regarding ethics, the use of HUMINT and hacking forums". However, Shireroth notes that as the allegations took part in 2008, it would forward the cause of peace for the parties involved to consider, perhaps a statement of regret that such things may have occurred in the long past, and a resolve that such things should not occur.

Would the good Mr. Kovac like to move his resolution to the floor of the General Assembly and condemn all acts of espionage?

The Imperial Government will not apologise for actions it did not carry out.
