I rescind my previous vote in favor of NAY. This bill is unnecessary in the face of a full rewrite of the Charter.

It is my ardent expectation that if (as seems likely) this particular amendment is scuppered by failing to reach a 3/4 majority, that those responsible for said scuppering will put their money where their mouths are in a timely fashion with regard to a wider Charter reform. Anything less is unforgivable.

Indeed. I do not understand the opposition of some to this Bill given that no effort has begun to rewrite the Charter, and I can't understand why for the meantime, this amendment cannot be made.

I'm expecting to see this started soon then. Otherwise, I'd entertain bringing this up again in a few months if I am still Praetor.

I've explained my opposition. The Kaiser can direct foreign policy via decree and we are doing a Charter overhaul.

If that rewrite doesn't happen within the next month - or starts but stalls horrifically - I will repropose this amendment and while I don't expect the learned Arbiter to waver, perhaps some others might.

You have had long enough...

Voting has now closed. With six votes for (Yastreb, Drakland, Green, Benkern, Jack, Rosshim), three votes against (Nur Pinito, Jonathan, Milharna) and no abstentions, the bill has failed to meet the three-quarters majority required for a Charter amendment and consequently, fails.
