When you have someone like Charles Dance playing Tywin Lannister, you can't help but have a little bit of awe and respect for the guy. The man is a greatly underrated actor.

I like series Stannis too.

I do appreciate that they gave Tywin so much more screentime in Season 2 than the book affords him.

Indeed, I like Charles Dance. I liked the editorial decision to replace Bolton with Tywin in Harrenhal while Arya was the cupbearer there. Arya in the show is much more likable and interest whereas in the book, I find her story line somewhat irrelevant, though you can't get worse than Bran. The show even seems to be moving towards fleshing out both the Boltons in a way the books haven't, so that's good as well. I see that as the show's major contribution to the story- developing characters that the books haven't. However, in order to achieve this, they need to cut some characters as well, such as the odd decision to cut Loras' brothers and make him the heir to Highgarden. Very odd.

And yes, north south east west, Stannis is the true king.

In my mind I see:
Ardy = Gregor Clegane
Hesam = Ramsay Snow
Malliki = Sandor Clegane
Rossheim = White Walkers
Aryeztur = Salladhor Saan
Ari = Tyrion Lannister
Harvey = Stannis Baratheon
Chris = Lord Varys
Ric = Jon Snow
Jonas = Petyr Baelish
Jack = Loras Tyrell
Kai = Lysa Tully =p

After Jonas named himself Bastion King? I think that would give people the wrong idea...

Perhaps the Hand will animate the King through the insertion of a hand.

I demand that Charles Dance be added to the Divine Census. Yesterday...

As it happens, I've been a fan of Charles for years...long before AGOT forced people to wake up to his talent. Jewel in the Crown, anyone? And please tell me I'm not the only person here who remembers him fighting Eddie Murphy as a shapeshifting Tibetan demon!

I don't mind Stannis. He has a very strong sense of duty, fairness and justice...without being a political lightweight (yes Ned, I'm thinking of you here). He might not be popular, but he would make a good king.

Sadly yes. Come on, people...we have a Westeros of our own to mangle!

The TV show is at least willing to let the "NEVER SMILING" characters smile in their own way (menacing, plotting, etc).

I have not seen The Golden Child in a long time. I want to watch it now.

This thread reminds me of the time I was part of a pub lock-in (literally a lock-in, I couldn't get out) with a dozen of the pub's regulars at about 3am, every single one of whom was familiar with all the songs in Les Miserables, and who proceeded to belt out said songs with full drunken passion until dawn. I was fairly drunk myself, very tired and very bored. And I was the only one in that pub who had never seen Les Miserables. And I had to sit through it all. Each minute like an hour. No escape. No prisoners. No survivors.

*snaps out of flashback*

Uhh yeah, let's do the thing.

Should we do this in an omnibus bill or split it up?

Plus, assuming assent of the ruler of Aryasht, a parallel treaty to finalize Aryasht's status as imperial state and an MCS update.

Where is the rolling list of MCS updates yet to be done?
