Kaiser Cup Semi-Final Draw and Previews
With our 4 teams through to the next round, the question remains which two will now head to the National Stadium for the Kaiser Cup. With Farvaelska and Apollo being chose as the two venues, Shirekeep awaits as the final closes in upon us. As preparations are being finalised and early fans snapping up tickets in anticipation of their team heading to the final, the only thing for them to do is hope - and the only thing the players can do is win.
Semi Final 1 - RAIKOTH v JHI-LK
Some claim that JHI-LK were lucky in the opening draw, and some claim that Raikoth were fortunate to beat Apollo. Either way, both teams are through and JHI-LK will make the trip back to Caligae as they face a final shot at silverware. Regularly home to Farvaelska, Cape Farewell will turn Tan and Blue for the weekend as many loyal fans from both side make the upbound trip to cross the Elwynnese border with a view of seeing their side making it to the final.
Raikoth made an appalling start to their season; not even managing to secure a victory in the first half of the season. However, under Chaim Eisenfeld, the team has had renewed hope. An organised team with solidity, the team managed to recover and leap above Farvaelska in the latter stages of the season. However, the real progress report was in the last clash against Apollo. After taking the lead, the team suffered a blunder as keeper Alejian du Nigrad booted the ball into his own net. However the hard working ethic Eisenfeld has produced in the team and the view of responsibility at the back, Raikoth managed to win 4-2.
JHI-LK on the other hand had an easy victory against Farvaelska at the Caligae Arena, winning 6-2. As they return to the stadium, the continuity at Farvaelska may give the impression as if it was a new home venue; however with JHI-LK to move into a new stadium after the World Cup ahead of the next season, they shouldn't get too cosy and with the prospect of winning silverware after missing out on the league, there is no doubt that they wouldn't want to let another opportunity slip.
Looking at both sides, you will have to put JHI-LK as favourites. However could Raikoth prove another cupset? If the likes of captain Eamonn Colleran, Tsvi Wasserman, Dearg McCann and the very young goalkeeper Alejian du Nigrad can perform, then there is no reason why not. However, with the big hitting front 3, it might take more than a few defenders and a goalkeeper to stop JHI-LK.
Semi Final 2 - IMPERIAL UNITED v MORTIS MERCATORIA
The trickier task of the two in a trickier location. This ones going to be in Apollo at the Antya Stadion, Shireroth's most eastern-point football stadium. The main problem for whoever wins this tie will be the sheer distance they will have to travel as they go back from Kildare to the Imperial County.
League Champions MMFC will undoubtedly go into this as favourites. After a bookies prediction of penalty shootout against Syrelwynn Swifts proved to be hideously wrong, the Ghosts will look ahead to this match full of confidence with a dominating performance in the previous round against a very tough opposition. The likes of Billy McVeigh and Gary Smith really shone whilst captain Giacomo Tedeschi got into the book. The Natopian right back will look to be on his best behaviour as another yellow card will result in suspension.
And facing the Ghosts will be the Robins. Imperial United already know their season was poor and victory in Kildare could reshape their end-season review. A tricky task for them, but not impossible. Despite their 5th place finish, Imperial United managed to draw at Mortis Mercatoria 1-1, and claimed to have only lost their home match due to suspension to two of their first team defenders. One key player they will have to look out for Gary Smith. The Shirerithian international has scored 3 times in the last two matches against Imperial United, and the Robins will definately want him to add to his tally against them.
Imperial United will look to counter MMFC's line up with their own Shirerithian international Talsin Llwrran, as well as the attacking threat of Alexei Emir. Whatever the case, this should be a good game. It's a tough one to call but the bookies are right to put MMFC as the narrow favourites for this one.

Please note, both of these matches will be broadcasted.
I will also need to know if teams are making any changes to their line up (by mid day tomorrow).

Giacomo Tedeschi will start the game on the bench in favor of Daniel James. Tor Svensson will captain the team.

Re: Kaiser Cup Semi-Final Draw and Previews
No worries here, we'll keep the same line-up. Can't believe I got the lucky draw again
Re: Kaiser Cup Semi-Final Draw and Previews
Imperial United will be going radical, switching from a 5-4-1 to a 4-2-1-3 with a view of attacking similar to the way Alexandria did when winning the World Cup.
Edson will remain in goal, whilst captain Carlao will be partnered with Sharukh Masood in defence with Rob Anthony dropped. Michael Madison remains at right back whilst Rob Anthony and Patrice Richard are dropped as Larry Wicks starts at left back. In the holding role, Mihail Volkov retains his place as Zig Cee drops back to a more defensive role, whilst Joey Abrour is brought in to replace David Christensen.
The front 3 will consist of Incontinentian striker Alexei Emir, Shirerithian Talsin Llwrran and Jake Andersson.

The only tactics change from MMFC is a higher focus on wing play.

Battle of the giants, let's see if we can break your undefeated streak
Re: Kaiser Cup Semi-Final Draw and Previews
Seeing as there has been 8 draws for MMFC, I can assure everyone that this one won't be another draw. There will have to be a winner or a loser here. Anyways, a small promotion poster:
