TO: Steward's Tower, Raynor's Keep

FROM: Apollonia Command, MoMA Station Akis

DATE: 11.X.1659

SUBJECT: Medical Detachment to Hawshire-Dura

In obedience to your command the Inspector-General of the Field Medical Services Group, accompanied by the Barber-Surgeon, the Apothecary, two herbalists, and a sanitation troop from the Arboreal Garrison's Logistics Vexillation, have boarded the NDS Chancellor, a Eisboyle Class Assault Ship attached to the Joint Task Force, at Fort Nider, with orders to proceed to Hawshire City at the earliest instance. The Kestrel gravship LZ-007 is accompanying. Several crates of dried agrimony and black tea have been loaded aboard the Chancellor and will be distributed ashore upon arrival on the island.

The Draconarius will, once ashore, organise an Aid Post through which to assist the medical services, such as they are, maintained by local authorities - whoever they may be. Considering the standards of hygiene and sanitation amongst the lesser races, the Draconarius will be making arrangements to have men specially trained as sanitary police to maintain standards of personal cleanliness amongst the subject population. Provision will be made to establish bathing facilities for the lower classes. Underclothing will be inspected, sterilised, and, where irredeemable, burnt. Disinfection drills will be run in poorer neighbourhoods at least once a week.

The sanitation police will keep a sharp watch for any signs of afflictions of the flesh and for the appearance of lice amongst the proles. If an outbreak has indeed occurred, the afflicted will be segregated from communal washing facilities for chemical disinfection and medical treatment.

The Hawshire Flotilla has implemented a precautionary quarantine of the island. However I do not feel that there is any untoward cause for alarm.

Hasimir Mo'll Steffki, Magister-Generalissimus
