My dear fellow Shirithians,
I write this letter to all of you who are confused, frightened or angry. The past weeks have been very difficult for our nation. I can say that the past weeks have also been very difficult for me. Because of my position in our government, I was forced to make rapid decisions, and undertake crucial actions in a very short time. I have done what I thought was the right thing for us all, and I wish to explain to you, the citizens of Shireroth I am bound to protect, why and how the decision was made to dispose Kaiser Dominus Tarjeisson, and what I believe needs to be the next step in bringing us all back together, and restore the Imperial Government to serve you, the people.
I have had the honour of knowing our late Kaiser Dominus for many years. In his younger days, he was a wonderful and bright man. His leadership of the Ministry of Military Affairs, and his business exploits through the ESB-group have made our country better and stronger. For that, I will be forever grateful. But it is an unfortunate truth that the hearts of men hold both light and darkness, and it is within this eternal struggle between right and wrong that we must live. It is also true that in exceptional men, such as our late Kaiser was, the light shines brighter, but the darkness can smoulder with a frightful intensity. Not long after assuming the Mango Throne, a man who I regarded as a friend, changed. The weight of that awesome power of the Kaisership lies heavy upon us, mortal men. Kaiser Dominus more and more evolved into a tyrant, whom I, and many around me, deemed to be unfit to rule and a danger to the people.
The decision to join the efforts to remove Kaiser Dominus from power was a difficult one. I did not think that this was a decision for me to make. But when I heard of the people involved, noble men and people I held in great esteem, I could not stand idly by. When brave men such as our City Guard choose to take this step, who was I to refuse my help? So I helped completing the transition of power, and ensured that as little lives as possible would be lost in the process. It was all I could do. Unfortunately, many within our government saw this moment of peril for our nation as an opportunity to advance their own career. Even today, the Praetor and the former Steward are scheming, against the will of you, the people, trying to expand their power. They do not care if the fighting and suffering is prolonged by their actions. We patriots cannot accept that, the rule of law and the safety of the Shirithian people cannot be ignored for the sake of the careers of lofty nobles in their palaces of marble.
But I want to address in this letter another point. After the disposal of Kaiser Dominus, I supported the new Kaiser, Aurangzeb II Steffki. It was not my choice to make, but I felt that the stability of the realm needed a unified government. I am grateful for the new Kaiser to have named me in his government, and I have tried to use this position to advance the forgotten people of our realm. However, I have become increasingly frightened by the actions of the new Kaiser. His actions against the Lich people, who I regard as members of our big Shirithian family, are unacceptable. I have done everything in my power to protect the Lich against violence, only to be restrained by the Kaiser Aurangzeb II Steffki. This, my fellow countrymen, will not stand. It cannot be that we have exchanged one tyrant for another.
For that reason, I call upon His Imperial Majesty the Kaiser to resign from office, and hand the throne to the Queen of Goldshire, a noble, strong and wise woman. Together, we can heal the wounds of the past weeks, and come together as one nation, and one people.
Shireroth will never perish, because it is you, the people, who are the bright red blood of life that is flowing through her veins.
May the gods bless you all, and protect you in these difficult times.
From the Iron Tower in the City of Shirekeep, on this day in the year sixteen forty-four long count, sixty-three eighty short count, in the hour of the Prancing Pony, your Minister and servant, LUDOVIC ALIXION-VERION.

They call me traitor for protecting the people of Shireroth against tyranny. Words cannot hurt me, I have done what is right for my country and the gods will judge me in the afterlife.
