Apollo of Piraeus, c. 530 BC, modern replica
Bronze cast, gold plating
2009-2

From the Archaic period of ancient Greek art on Earth. The relatively rigid stance with one foot slightly in front of the other is typical of Archaic period Greek sculpture as it derives from Egyptian sources. The sharp features of the face, "dreaded" hair style, and bulging eyes are also indicative of the Archaic style. The outstretched right hand may have possibly held a bowl to hold sacrifices. A gift from the people of Ashkenatza to the House of Waffel-Paine.

The Mona Lisa, or La Giocanda, is a portrait of Lisa Gherardini, the wife of an influential Florentine citizen. The portrait is perhaps the most widely recognized work of art in the world. It is considered by many to be one of da Vinci's best works and demonstrates mastery in atmospheric perspective. A gift from the Emperor of Alrodria to the House of Waffel-Paine.
