[Story] "Peace Be Upon Them"

Zeed is a microcosm of the ancient realms which once inhabited its parent continent, leading to the necessity of the unique form of democracy the people enjoy today.

[Story] "Peace Be Upon Them"

Post by Vladim »

In a relatively non-descript ziggurat in rural Zeed, members of the clergy of Zurvanism, Khelwesite and Ruthenian Orthodoxy gathered for their monthly debate. Each ornately clad in the finest gowns and robes of their respective sects of the great Zurvanic family of religions. The old Zurvanist priest bore robes of Raspurid silk, a long and well-groomed beard but no mustache; the the Khelwesite simple garb, but in direct juxtaposition to the Zurvanist - a clean shaven face in the image of the Old One - Shahanshah Gozar; and finally, the Ruthenian was garbed in fine silks, green and gold in color, his face adorned by a well groomed beard and mustache. All agreed upon the supremacy of humanity and that of the creation-force that is Zurvan - but none could agree on the future of Eura, how the world should be viewed and what must come from the great September Revolution.

Peace be upon you all, and the peoples of Eura - touted the Orthodox priest.

Brother Yevgeny, there can be NO PEACE, until all of Eura is united under the banner of the harmonious society - exclaimed the Khelwesite imam, Faraz.

Through peace, we shall all prosper under his banner! Is that not the very core tenant of the concept of harmony and the blessing of the harmonious society Did Ruthenians fire papers of scripture when the revolution began? - posed Yevgeny.

Peace has always came through the barrel of Ruthenian guns... - the deep and melodic voice of the Raspurid Zurvanist, Abdullah al-Ghur, penetrating a moment of awkward silence.

We can all agree, that through Zurvan, whatever his will may be, is the rightful path of our continent. Be it through the citing of our scripture or the barrel of a gun - PEACE will come. - rationalized Yevgeny.

The clerics sat for a moment in somber silence, evaluating the meaning of the conversation. Though they had subtle differences in the meaning of Zurvan's importance, role and the scriptures - all were united by belief in the supreme being. As the silence became too oppressive to bear, Yevgeny of Ruthenian Orthodoxy broke through the imposing wall of stillness.

Is it not the will of Zurvan that all of Eura be whole, under his radiant light? - he mused.

The other two clerics nodded in agreement, but al-Ghur the Zurvanist came forth,

It is not that easy, brother! So long as Eura is occupied, those of my faith shall not rest!

Nor shall mine - said Faraz in agreement.

It was then that Yevgeny knew that, if there were to be a united Eura, the beliefs of peace and harmony must take a more radical methodology to ensure that the great creator, Zurvan, shines upon his blessed continent and its people once more. With that short discussion, Yevgeny closed with,

Then that is what it shall be. Peace be upon you all, but death to all who oppose Zurvan!

It was with that, that the factional leaders of the various religious sects which exist within Zeed came to an agreement. Long had they been at odds, and long they shall still be, but for the time being they all agreed upon one common purpose which served them equally.
