who, by this Imperial Decree, gives unto his subjects and retainers, greetings, and unto the gods of Shireroth, undying and unthinking obsequience.


Know that We, Mibaradardam be Khorshid va Mah Minamaz dadanam Zurvan, have in the first place dedicated to Zurvan this decree which by his Kharenah is confirmed for Us and Our heirs forever.


IMPERIAL DECREE 1173
On Shirerithian Nationals and Shirerithian Subjects


Enacted, on the advice of the Steward, as follows:

Section 1: Preliminary matters
  1. Shirerithian nationals comprise Shirerithian citizens and denizens, as well as nationals of imperial protectorates (excepting those in military service). Shirerithian nationals are afforded the freedoms of the Imperial Republic and owe respect for their person and rank. Shirerithian nationals owe the Imperial Republic their loyalty, respect and devotion.
  2. Shirerithian subjects are subject to the law and sovereignty of the Imperial Republic. Shirerithian subjects owe the Imperial Republic their loyalty, respect and devotion.
  3. Each Shirerithian national and Shirerithian subject within the territory of the Imperial Republic shall at all times carry proof (“biolegal data”) of their nationality or subjecthood, their DNA, and of their name and other personal identifiers as well as of their rank. It shall always, regardless of rank, be permissible to have biolegal data stored subcutaneously.

Section 2: Shirerithian nationals
  1. Citizens are Shirerithian nationals with noble dignity in accordance with law.
  2. They are afforded a golden ring carrying their biolegal data.
    Denizens are Shirerithian nationals without noble dignity in accordance with law. They are afforded ID cards with their biolegal data.
  3. A foreigner acquires Shirerithian nationality upon settling in the territory of the Imperial Republic in accordance with law.
  4. A foreigner residing in an imperial protectorate acquires Shirerithian nationality upon acquiring the nationality of that imperial protectorate.
  5. A child acquires Shirerithian nationality, if:
    1. its parents are both Shirerithian nationals, or
    2. it is born in the territory of the Imperial Republic with at least one parent being a Shirerithian national, or
    3. the law of an imperial protectorate allows the child nationality of that protectorate.
  6. A citizen loses Shirerithian nationality upon the receipt from the Imperial Government on the citizen’s written renunciation of nationality addressed to the Kaiser, or upon entering military service.
  7. A denizen loses Shirerithian nationality upon entering imperial subjecthood or upon the receipt of the denizen’s written renunciation of nationality addressed to the Kaiser.
  8. Nationals of an imperial protectorate have in the territory of the Imperial Republic the rank of denizen unless they have demonstrated that they are of noble dignity.
  9. If a national of an imperial protectorate loses the nationality of that protectorate, the consequence is the loss of Shirerithian nationality.
  10. A renunciation may only be made if the renouncer resides permanently abroad.
  11. Once renounced, Shirerithian nationality may only be restored by the Kaiser.
Section 3: Shirerithian Subjects
  1. Shirerithian subjects comprise:
    1. citizens during military service
    2. denizens during military service
    3. loyal subjects of the Kaiser
    4. community servants
    5. protected persons
    6. other Shirerithian nationals in military service
  2. For Shirerithian subjects in military service, denizenship is granted upon an honourable discharge from military service.
  3. Citizens in military service will revert to citizenship with an imperial upon an honourable discharge from military service. Citizens in military service will regress to denizenship (and lose their citizenship) upon a dishonourable discharge from military service.
  4. Denizens in military service will revert to denizenship with an imperial pension upon an honourable discharge from military service. Denizens in military service will regress to loyal subjecthood of the Kaiser (and lose their denizenship) upon a dishonourable discharge from military service.
  5. Loyal subjects of the Kaiser in military service will be granted denizenship upon an honourable discharge from military service. Loyal subjects of the Kaiser in military service will regress to community servitude upon a dishonourable discharge from military service.
  6. Community servants in military service will be granted denizenship upon an honourable discharge from military service. Community servants in military service will remain in community servitude upon a dishonourable discharge from military service.
  7. Other Shirerithian subjects in military service will revert to their original rank (and if lower than denizen, be granted denizenship) with an imperial pension upon an honourable discharge from military service. Upon a dishonourable discharge, they will return to their homelands without leave to enter the territory of the Imperial Republic.
  8. Shirerithian subjects may be granted a passport of the Imperial Republic for travel abroad if such travel is permitted by the authority entrusted to their care.
  9. Other rules governing the loss and acquisition of loyal subjecthood, community servitude, and protected personhood are specified in the Lawbook.
  10. Shirerithian subjects shall carry a chip with their biolegal data subcutaneously.
