[1665/I] An Ordinance Ordering the Suppression of the Loyalist Legion


Whereas, by ancient custom and by the law, the worship and veneration of daemons is prohibited, and;

Whereas, in spite of our clemency, those agents of the former Daemon-Queen who received mercy at our hands have senselessly and imprudently apostatised from the faith and broken their covenant by reforming the Loyalist Legion.

We shall not be so forgiving this time.

Accordingly, the following is ordered: -
  1. The Loyalist Legion is declared to be a heretical and subversive entity and, accordingly, it is to be suppressed.
    1. Membership of the Loyalist Legion shall be an offence punishable by 15 years of community servitude.
    2. All assets, including capital and property, of the Loyalist Legion are declared forfeit to His Serenity's Government.
  2. In accordance with Article 2 (Section 4) of Chapter 4 of the Constitution of Drakorda, a Special Inquisition for the Eradication of Heresy shall be established.
    1. In each Governorate of the Circuit of Benacia, a Tribunal shall be established comprised of:
      1. Appointed by the Archon of Benacia
        • A Clerk of Court
        • A Bailiff
        • A Prosecutor
      2. Appointed by the King of the Sacrifice for the Cult of Mors
        • An Imperial Vicar
        • Two Temple Officiants
        • A Carnifex
    2. The Tribunal shall conduct an Assize of the Bailiwicks of its Governorate. In each Bailiwick an Edict of Mercy shall be promulgated; bestowing all members of the Loyalist Legion a period of 40 days in which to confess, recant their daemonic affiliation, and re-sign the Covenant.
    3. The work of the Tribunal shall be carried on in camera. Revealing the works of the Tribunal is an offence for which the minimum sentence tariff is 20 years of Community Service.
    4. Any who refuse the Mercy of the Tribunal, or who attempt to flee having become known to the authorities, shall be subjected to the full rigours of the Inquisition and shall serve 40 years of Community Service.
    5. Any person, having been examined by the Inquisition, who attempt to promote sedition and heresy by making appeals against any judgement they have received from Tribunal to higher authority shall be subject to 100 years of Community Service.
    6. The property of those who have refused the Mercy of the Tribunal shall be confiscated and put to public auction to properly fund the holy works of the Inquisition.
  3. The Archon of Benacia is appointed Lord Temporal of the Court of Augmentations with responsibility for administering the confiscation and sale of assets belonging to the Loyalist Legion and those members who refused the Mercy of the Tribunal.
  4. Only His Serenity may overturn a verdict of the Inquisition or an order of the Court of Augmentations.
