The Midnight Declaration

Post by Daniel »

Amokolians!

Long have we lived under a government so quiet that it cannot guarantee us the most basic right of them all – that of life. But we speak not that of the life of ours, but that of what binds us all together – the life of the body-politic! How are we to survive if our protectors are dead?

The Queen has refused our calls for responsible government.

The Queen has refused to make laws for Amokolia. She has avoided all contact with her people in the Amokolian Nation since the first day of our people being put under Victorian coercion. The governor whom the Queen appointed has refused, he too, to ever answering calls from the Amokolian people or even questions from them. He has refused to meet with them, he has refused our calls for laws, for without laws, a State cannot function. And this State, this body politic of Amokolians, is not functioning without laws, without government and without any responsible institution to whom the people can turn.

Accordingly, the Amokolian Nation has no other choice, when its so-called parent lingers in the throes of death, without itself a government, its people in a state of anarchy and anomie, than to declare itself responsible for its own government, its own future and its own laws.

We declare our Nation, our body-politic, our State, to be one that is free, sovereign and independent of the Victorian hegemony. The Amokolian people are as such absolved all and any loyalty to the Victorian Crown.

While we recognize that our State, now established, is unfeasible to survive on its own, we have appealed to our neighbours in the east, in remembering the similarities in demography, population and culture of our two nations, in that they shall assist us Amokolians in establishing law, for without laws a nation, as we have repeatedly seen, perishes, that upon law a land is built. The Elwynnese Realm, having accepted our appeals, has agreed to establish a mandate of law over Amokolia, so that laws may be justly made.

This is the Amokolian will and the Amokolian will is law.

LONG LIVE AMOKOLIA!
Ghost of Dâniyal the Dead
Disturb not my sleep!
