Koninklijke toer - Royal Tour

Post by Hendrik des Vinandy »

When the royal plane approaches the island, the aircraft is accompanied by Batavian fighter jets. At the airport of Antonia the king is met by the Lord of Princess Fränzi-Ferdinanda Island and his wife. Together with the Lord, the king inspects the guard of honour.

After lunch with the Lord and his wife, the king leaves for the naval port, where the king is awaited by the commanders of the various units of the Batavian Armed Forces. The king is taken to the command ship by helicopter. From the helicopter, the king looks with awe and pride at the many naval ships, submarines and aircraft of the Batavian Armed Forces.

“Uwe majesteit, mijn verre neef,

U, mijn verre neef, bent onze hoop.

After the successful military exercise, the king attended the final briefing. On the deck of one of the aircraft carriers, the king had another meeting with the sailors, who all wanted to shake hands with the king. A group photo was made and an honorary salute of ship's horns greeted the king on his departure by helicopter.

After an overnight stay, the king left the Princess Fränzi-Ferdinanda Island. In the plane on the way to the Beneluccas, the king read about the military practice of Alrig and Jingdao. He smiled. He then continued with his work, for which he had time during the flight.

Hours later, he was awakened because the plane was approaching the Benelukken. He saw the islands from the window. He saw Schaarlecht, the capital, and the "Chogogo" estate, where he grew up. Rejoice to come back to these islands. He thought of all those fine memories, of all the things he undertook with his friends. Diving, surfing, boating, motorcycling. Too many to mention. The signal from the belts sounded, the landing was started.

Once on the ground, the red carpet has rolled out and the king, waving to the enthusiastic crowd, descended the stairs. At the bottom of the stairs he is received by children from a local primary school, who decorated the king with flower chains. All children shake hands with the king while a band is playing.

Waiting at the end of the red carpet is Queen Margaery of Vinandy and when Arkadius approached, follows a hearty greeting. The two know each other well, because they only differ a few years and they both grew up on the "Chogogo" estate. The two heads of state drive in an open car to the center of Schaarlecht, where the square carries out the ceremonial guard.

In the Government House there is a reception of high-ranking people, representatives of communities and social organizations. The king is introduced to everyone and listens to the different speeches. After the reception, the queen organized a state dinner, where she finally gave a speech:

“Your majesty, my distant cousin,

On behalf of the Beneluccas, I can tell you that we are very happy about your coming to our islands. It is a return, a return home, because you grew up here. That was when we said "you" to each other. (a typical Dutch-language joke about the politeness that fits the function of king)

* the room is laughs *

Let the solidarity between us be a precursor to the solidarity between our countries. The Beneluccas are the last remnant of Flanders, but let's work together not to forget the rich history of Flanders.

There is also some concern, namely that the Beneluccas cannot stand on their own in the wave of nations without Batavia. Merging with Batavia goes too far for many, certainly if the Beneluccas would continue as a colony under the Batavian flag.

You, my distant cousin, are our hope. Because you are the heir to the prince, the next in line with the throne. But without burdening you with untold burdens, it is our wish to appoint you as "Captain in the Knight Order of the Beneluccas pirates".

Then the queen spelled matching ribbon on. "Thank you", the king replies, "it is a great honor for me to wear this knighthood."

The next morning the king does some work before he goes to the next appointment. The king leaves by car to Geens University in Schaarlecht. The students await the arrival of the king in excitement. Selected students are present in the large lecture hall to meet the king. The king is received with a thunderous applause.

The rector of the university welcomes the king and takes the floor: “Your Majesty, welcome to our university. Thank you for coming here and giving the students the opportunity to ask questions. "

The first student received the microphone and nervously asked the first question: “Thank you, Your Majesty. Uh ... you have more powers under the current Batavian constitution than your predecessors. How do you handle that?"

"Thank you for the question," the king replies, "a very substantive question, how good! The late Gustaaf Vermeylen Sr. explained in the lecture "Power of the King" that my great-great-grandfather, King Arkadius II des Vinandy, had powers, but had a modest attitude in using those powers. I admire that modesty, only there I have not been able to practice in my short reign. At the moment the political situation is still unhealthy, since I still actively lead the government. I hope that situation change. "

The students applaud. A student is already ready with the microphone for the second question: "Your majesty, who is your great example?"

“I have already revealed that a bit, namely my great-great-grandfather, King Arkadius II des Vinandy. His modesty and skill have greatly contributed to a stable Batavia. I hope to achieve that stability again.”

"Thank you", the student says and gives the microphone to a fellow student. He nervously asks the following question: "How do you keep the balance between the former enemies Jingdao and Shireroth?"

“Well, that's a good question. It is a split, a diplomatic piece of acrobatics. We are very thankful for Jingdao, namely that the capital has been transferred to us and that we have access to the archive in the Sisera Museum. At the same time, we have gradually received an unbelievably large piece of land from Shireroth. More than the original borders of Batavia. So that makes the puzzle so complex. On the one hand, the desire to maintain good diplomatic ties with both countries, without one or both countries affecting our neutrality and determining foreign policy. Our wish is to keep both countries friends. "

A big applause from the students follows. An enthusiastic student takes over the microphone: "Enough about politics, your majesty." Laughter sounds from the audience. "Um ... your majesty, unfortunately you are engaged" The king and the students laugh. "Yes, because I have to admit that I am jealous of your fiancé". "Thank you", the king replies. "Well, yes," there student continued, "when is the wedding day planned?"

The students applaud, after which the king replies: "The date is not yet planned", "Aahwww", the audience responds. "But don't worry, it won't be long".

The rector thanks the king and the students. A thunderous applause sounds from the audience. A band is still playing on the lawn of the university campus, while the king says goodbye to the students and the rector.

The king is taken to the "Chogogo" estate, where he has a family meeting. The next day the king leaves for Los Liberados.

---

The royal plane is approaching the airport of Puerto Arcadio, the city is named after its ancestor, King Arkadius II. While the plane is landing, President Jacobo Castrigo Álvarez is already waiting. Under the sounds of the royal anthem, the king descends the stairs and is warmly welcomed by the president.

The guard of honor is inspected by both men. Two flagpoles are set up and when the king and the president stand ready, the first flag is raised. The Batavian flag is raised under the sounds of the Batavian State Anthem.

Both gentlemen salute and sing along. Then the national anthem of Los Liberados is started and the flag of Los Liberados is raised.

Then the heads of state leave in an open car towards Puerto Arcadio. On the quay of the old port the column stops with, among other things, the open car in which the heads of state are sitting. An enthusiastic population has come to meet the heads of state, in particular the king. The harbor is full of boats of all sizes, the quay wall is decorated with beautiful flowers, the flags of Batavia and Los Liberados hang on the light towers.

The heads of state get out and wave at the people. The king shakes the hands of different people behind the fences. The security guards are always a little nervous about these interactions, but people only have eyes for the king. The president takes a seat at the pulpit next to the freedom monument. The placard is still hidden behind a curtain. The king takes a seat on a chair surrounded by notables and dignitaries.

The president began to speak: "Your Majesty, welcome to Los Liberados." A cheer comes from the audience. “You are eagerly awaiting your arrival. The news from your Royal Tour along the Bondslanden has been received in a big way here. We thank you for coming.” We rejoice again. The president has to chuckle a little about the enthusiasm of the population, but continues with his speech. “Our country is founded on freedom. Freedom from foreign oppression. "No foreign ruler or power will oppress us" explains the prologue to the Batavian constitution. We can also taste that taste of freedom. That freedom ideal unites us, that freedom ideal makes us brothers!” An applause follows.

Then the president invites the king forward and each on one side the heads of state take places at the placard. The king takes the floor: “Thank you for the enthusiastic reception here in Puerto Arcadio. Now I can reveal a placard here, but I hope not to disappoint you. Because revealing a placard is not the most exciting thing in your life. As a professional placard revealer, I will keep this as interesting as possible." The people present are laughing. With a pull on the cord the placard is revealed, which says:
Unveiled by HM Arkadius Frederik Gustavus des Vinandy
King of Batavia
on 15 Grasmaand 1671

There is applause and the heads of state pose for a photo. Then the president takes the king to the other side of the square, which is directly adjacent to the quay. In the presidential palace on the square, the king is greeted by the presidential guard. After a short tour of the palace, the king is announced in the main hall. That is where the state dinner takes place. Selected guests enjoy the various dishes together with the king.

After the state dinner, the king has a private meeting with the president before going to the concert hall. There the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Los Liberados gives a special concert.

The concert opens with the piece "Gran Fanfaria" (large fanfare):

The following piece is about the struggles in the "Guerra de Secciones" freedom struggle:

To achieve the victory, "Mambos" is danced:

And more danced “Mambo”:
