The government has announced the construction of the new
Inter-Treisen Connector Network; a series of causeways that will link the three central islands of Treisenberg both with each other and with the mainland. In the past the islands have had to rely on constant ferry service to move people and goods back and forth between the mainland. This has severely limited growth of the islands and accessibility, both in terms of consumers and also in terms of emergency services. As such the government has decided to finance the construction of three causeways to allow for vehicular access to and between the islands.
Crews will begin dredging operations this month and construction will begin on the Cibolen Causeway first, since access to the capitol is deemed a priority. Each causeway will be fitted with two drawbridges that will allow for the movement, in either direction, of shipping vessels, so as not to impede ocean traffic. In reality the roads will likely be a combination of both causeway (in areas of lower water depth) and bridges (where water is deeper). The network is the first step in a series of planned roads improvements that will increase accessibility throughout Treisenberg.
