Ecological Movement, Brookshire

The ancient heartland of the Imperial Republic; time worn and beset by the troubled legacy of feudalism and the former tyranny of Liches. Now a personal domain of the Kaiser, restored to statehood and struggling to forge a new democratic identity.

The City of Ankh has become the latest Criscan settlement to receive the wisdom of our inspirer, Sir Łudo Thalva. The revolutionary in the field of human ecology, Sir Thalva, arrived to the nearby town of Lilspann on the invitation of its mayor, the Honourable Luhard Pirsza.

There he spoke, and there many were inspired, with the mighty river Elwynn and Leal Castle as his backdrop.

Sir Thalva concluded his speech, and, raising his hands, spoke the words "Go Forth!" and the townsfolk who had gathered to hear him set to work. The Honourable Luhard Pirsza organized a committee to discuss in depth the means by which the Town of Lilspann may adopt the teachings of Sir Thalva. Others set to work, moving spontaneously to remake their homes in the new manner.

Yet others set to travel to Ankh, that great city! They brought with them books written by Sir Thalva, and spoke to the people of the city. Such a commotion was produced, the city was overturned with vigour for the new ideas, though some were unconvinced. It took the voice of Sir Thalva himself to arrive in person, and many more were drawn to the new way of life ordering.

Go forth, and cultivate the world!

Wisdom upon Wisdom

With pride, we announce the release of the latest treatise by Sir Łudo Thalva, human ecologist and wisdom of our age!

Our publishing house at Iago's Rest has begun distribution of For the Benefit of All: a Humble Proposal for Extant Communities and among Non-Ecologists to each chapter of our movement, a number which grows day by day! Each chapter of the Ecological Movement is encouraged to embrace this latest treatise, and to use it as part of its community outreach, so that all may come to know his principles of Human Ecology, witness the wisdom therein, and begin to apply it in their daily living.

Sir Thalva's humility is as deep as the profoundness of his words!
Messengers on a Mission

Volunteers drew in from all across the Criscan landscape, desperate to show their devotion to Sir Thalva, in gratitude for the way that their lives have been transformed through his teaching.

Sir Thalva met with them at Iago's Rest and, from among them, selected with his own hand those who would lead us on a new mission of outreach. Sir Thalva, quoting from his latest treatise, For the Benefit of All, spoke of the need for us all in the Ecological Movement to continue reaching beyond our perfected and perfecting communities to our neighbors who have yet to witness the transformative power of Human Ecology.

Supplying these hand-picked messenger-leaders, Sir Thalva directed them to make haste in every direction, teaching the people that they find how to apply his principles and begin to remake their way of life in balance and prosperity. He spoke of the urgency especially to those sent northward, to Alalehzamin, where imbalance and chaos has done much to impoverish the hearts of its suffering people.

Our Master Gardener of the Human Spirit directs us to fulfill our great work!

A parcel was received in Iago's Rest on 17.IV.1665. The Imperial Postal Service's courier declined the offer of an educational pamphlet in lieu of the customary gratuity traditionally offered to a postman for delivering a package rather than keeping it for himself.

Attached to the outside of the box, in a sealed plastic pouch, was a note:
  • To the Master Gardener of the Human Spirit, the most esteemed Thalva Sahib, greetings,

Your emissary spoke eloquently, well, and at length, on the matter of your message. On which we are prepared to acknowledge that you are not only a great man, not only a holy man, but a sage and a prophet for the ages. The Committee of Public Safety in Ardashirshahr has been so impressed that it voted to erect a statue in your likeness in the Victory of Virtue Memorial Gardens. Indeed your seminal work, "For the Benefit of All: a Humble Proposal for Extant Communities and among Non-Ecologists", is now required reading in our meetings.

Whilst we shall endeavour to incorporate the core messages of Human Ecology into our wider discourse of Nationalist Humanism, we request that you send no further "message-leaders" across the river at this time, lest we stop up our ears and sharpen our knives.

Should you prove amenable to this arrangement we shall send messages to the party faithful in Brookshire advising them to lend their support to your great work.

A Tour of Inspiration, A Tour of Warning

Our beloved mentor, Sir Łudo Thalva, has completed his tour of Brookshire and Goldshire, having spoken at two dozen locations, from Maltenstein to High Harvest, from Lichport to Aurum.

At each visit, he was greeted by thousands of Human Ecologists, eager to hear new words to inspire, invigorate, and transform their lives. He has become a helper for the helpless, a hope for the hopeless, a haven for the weary who have wandered these tortured lands, searching for a means but also for a meaning. The Architect of Peace, Sir Thalva, spoke at ruins of Necrarchs, spoke in the fields and meadows of Goldshire, still recovering from war, spoke in the towns of those who were in such need for his word that they did not know how the depths of their emptiness until they became filled with it. His message for this tour was all-encompassing, his perennial message of unleashing potential, coupled with new warnings.

At the final gathering, near Moss, the landscape itself was moved by the words of Sir Thalva. The sky overhead rumbled with a deep foreboding as the Enlightener of Humanity spoke his call to action.

Sir Thalva spoke of reluctance by some quarters to embrace the principles of Human Ecology, and forgave them for their reluctance. "A heart that is reluctant to this transformative potential is reluctant because it has suffered and is afraid. Only through the healing of their hearts can we hope to call them to our mission."

Sir Thalva spoke also of resistance to the movement. False leaders, too narrow-minded to understand the potential to be unleashed, too single-minded in their lust for domination, blind to the fruits that Human Ecology would bear. "They face a future in which none shall want, and all shall move in accordance with the Mission, but they would prefer to continue spreading their blight upon humanity. From your suffering, they seek to satisfy their darkness. They would see the world itself rotten away, and they would continue up until the end, inflicting suffering upon all of you for the momentary domination over some of you."

As our Light in the World, Sir Thalva, reached the conclusion to his speech, the rain and clouds gave way. He spoke of the Human Ecology Movement's tranquil invigoration, and that achieving this for ourselves, for our communities, and for all humanity, we will become a new kind of humanity. Sun rays pierced the clouds; a double rainbow appeared behind his speaking podium, as he delivered his final remarks, "and just as the darkness cannot hold back the light, so too shall we illumine the world!"
