Military organisations?

Post by Hadrian Myksos »

A list of the many military and paramilitary organisations within the Empire wouldn't be such a bad idea. This will make it easier for us to merge the several organisations and groups which nowadays exist next to each other and overlaps each other in authority.

A list of those I immediately think of:

LAND FORCES
- National Protection Army: the majority of the professional armed forced (consisting of Legions). Their material is more updated than the other land forces, but experts say that there are still huge investments needed to make it a true modernised army that can compete with coalitions of foreign nations. These experts were sentenced for re-education for their preposterous theories.
The majority of the men was born in Audentior, while the officers are often Blackrockian.

- The Defence Forces: composed of all races within the Empire. They serve as reservists and a last line of defence. They guard towns and cities and keep the peace.

- Magical Knights: an old organisation, currently with around 300 Knights. Their HQ is at Mons Clistiro (near the Antya River) and it is said that they use 'magic' (our priests refer to this as spiritual energy) to aid in their battles. Its a strict organisation which mostly lives on its own, but follows the teachings of Catologism and see Sisera as bringer of Harmony. They were - and still are - respected throughout the land, even if in modern times we shouldn't fear too much about them.

- The Myxosean Guard: a brigade of 5,000 men within the XVth Legion (located near Apollo City). They are descendants of the Myxoseans who followed Taodosius Myksos to Kildare (and supported him in his coup). As Myxoseans their original duty stood central in their upbringing: helping the Myksos Dynasty in preparing the nation for the return of the Jingdaoese and the Heavenly Light to the lands of Apollo. Even while being part of the Protection Army, they were more or less independent from the other branches.

YOUTH ASSOCIATIONS
- Young Wandering Society: the youth organisation which is responsible for the education of the Jingdaoese youth: making them true men and women by teaching them to protect their mind and body against the evil intentions of foreign forces.

- Imperial Kadetten: those who want to serve in the army have to go through rigid training. The Kadetten are the younglings who seek a career in the National Protection Army (now it is open for non-Audentes).

SECRET ORGANISATIONS
- Tegong: the secret service of the Empire. It effectively supported the Heavenly Light in controlling the uneducated masses and sending the delinquents to re-education camps when necessary.

- Jieguo Jishu: it once served as secret service of Kildare and the Apollonian Republic. Its roots go back to the reign of Dutchess Sophia Myksos, when the Shirerithian government ordered her to remove the Jingdaoese influence from her Court. Several members of the Tegong stayed behind to help set up a separate intelligence service with the same teachings of trust in Sisera's return to Apollonia.
With the take-over of the Apollonian Republic, the Jieguo Jishu became an organisation of strict believers who travel from country to country. When confronted with leaders, they give them the choice to let their country join the Empire. If this request is not granted, they kill themselves during the audience.

NAVY
- Maritime Apollonian Customs Service: the MACS was established to protect the isolation policy of the Apollonian Republic. Foreign trade was strictly in the hands of those capable civil servants. As the Kildarian government and its successor state (the Apollonian Republic) did not have any navy which was worth mentioning, the MACS became more or less the navy of the nation.
