[Tribute-Herald]: Ilt Vorgensen Dies in Truck Explosion

Post by Yulodion E'nothwocep »

"...Commander Ilt Vorgensen has reportedly died in an explosion of his convoy
which was en route to Alexandria to purchase food and supplies. A
roadside bomb, which had been placed there several years ago during
a conflict between Uantiri Marauder-Rebel Fighters detonated, killing
all aboard the R-480 EGE International All Wheel Drive Armored All
Terrain Utility Truck instantly before they even would have known what
was happening. The event has been called an accident but newly
reinstated Commander Kelii Ka'aarve stated in a press conference
that the nation of Uantir needed to step up its efforts to clean up
debris and undetonated weapons littering the former conflict zone
between the former Ergonia and Uantir's borders..."

Has there been confirmation of the device's origins? That region was rather a political jigsaw not long ago. Would any clean-up attempts have last been undertaken by the Ergonian government, given its outlasting of Uantir's, as well?

Ergonian Science Officer Zock would be happy to the Craitish consul's questions:
*Has there been confirmation of the device's origins?
Yes. The device is Uantiri in origin but was placed
by a now defunct gang of Ocian bandits.

*Would any clean-up attempts have last been undertaken
by the Ergonian government, given its outlasting of Uantir's,
as well?
No. The device was placed during the 15 year 'dark
ages' after which the Independent Realm of Ergonia
had disbanded. Also, the estimated time it was placed
was 2 to 5 years ago. The explosion occurred in
unclaimed 'green' territory not under any nation's
control for quite some time and out of the range of
the Ergonian freedom fighters' efforts.

Thank you for the clarification. That part of Keltia isn't my forte of knowledge, so it's helpful to be filled in somewhat!
