Restoring order

Post by Welf von Walstadt »

As Welf learned about the burning of the Unified Church of Walstadt and the treason of Zauberförde. He quickly assembled the crews of the whaling fleet and had them armed with automatic rifles. Militias from all of the lordships but Zauberförde were also levied and made it to Walstadt over the course of the afternoon. While the whaling crews sought the houses for the rebelling Bovic clergymen, the militias made sure nobody could leave the town. Walstadt being a small town, it did not take long for the clergymen to be found. They were chained together and locked up in the prison cell at the harbour office. Having heard that their spiritual masters had been arrested, other Bovics also made it to the harbour to protest against the treatment of their like. With considerable force, but without brutality, these Bovics were also arrested and locked in other cells of the harbour office. Meanwhile the fishing trawler "Stolze Freiheit", the largest trawler of the fleet, returned from a long voyage. King Welf met with the captain and informed him of the events of the last days, the captain could almost not believe it but he he could see the smoldering remains of the Unified Church of Walstadt from the harbour office. "Captain, I say this with the greatest regret but we can no longer allow these men to stay in our demesne, the Demesnal Court has had them all sentenced with exile. Please deport them to Tapfer." The captain nodded, and ordered his crew to bunker the trawler with haste. Meanwhile the whaling crews escorted the chained Bovic prisoners on board of the vessel.

After the rebelling clergymen had been captured, the militia diverted its attention to reclaim the guns of Walstadt. Bear hunters from the northern lordships with remarkable marksmanship took out the drunk sailors from a distance before they had a chance to respond. As the guns were once again in the control of Walstadt, the neighbouring vessels in the harbour were quietly directed to move out of the way while the pirate barque was targeted. Both cannons shot in unison, one hitting the bow of the barque, the other blasting through the hold. The militia and whaling crews opened fire on any pirates that were trying to flee the sinking ship, driving them back into the ice cold water when they managed to make it unto the docks.

Past the pirates, the Stolze Freiheit set sail to Tapfer.
