It was a rainy day here in a small mine near Frieden Mine. This was not a famous rich mine, but rather a forgotten old one that was purchased by a private company some years ago. Few valuable stones have been found here, however it used to be in profit because of the reasonable amount of silver it produced to the owners. Fred and Vaaryn, to two of the seven miners there, were tired after 5-6 hours of work and were preparing for a break. As Vaaryn excavated yet another piece of rock, a small part of it caught his eye. It was not unusual for a piece of rock to be broken into several pieces after mining, but somehow Vaaryn was perhaps magically decided to check it out. The rock was not bigger than 3 inches and quite light in weight.
"Fred, come here, come here" he called loudly. "Look at this, it is just too unusual for a piece of rock only, don't you think?"
Fred got the small object into his hand and revealed an emotion of boredom. "Nothing like yet another rock, this is the most special one I have seen in my life. Its magical, if you kiss it, you get to do any woman in the town you want"
Vaaryn was pissed off by Fred's 'misplaced' joke, so he just kicked him away. In spite of this, he was decided to break it and see whats in there. So he did and just a few milliseconds after the rock was broken into two smaller pieces, Vaaryn's eyes couldn't believe what they were seeing. An astonishing 51 carats of pure black opal. This is one of the rarest and most expensive stones on earth, but moreover - its size for a rock of that kind was quite amazing! Just a few seconds and Vaaryn would put it secerly in his pocket...
"Woah, Vaaryn, are you serious?! If I'm right, that's the black opal itself! Really?! Here? In this forgotten by Baus hole!" said a young co-worker. As quickly as he said this, all of the other men formed a circle around the stone. This tiny object could secure the lives of all of these poor bastards maybe forever, but as stupid as they were - they failed to come to agree what to do with it. No one wanted to share it with anyone else, but nor could one get it alone, even Vaaryn was threatened. So they just reported it as ordinarily as a bunch of dust mined that day.
Well, perhaps not - the moment the owners heard about it, they immediately converted the stone into money in their minds - what other thing could a businessmen do? So, within a few days the news was spread throughout Klaasiya that an exceptionally expensive and rare stone has been found. Even though, as expected, there were many rich and notable families in the demesne, even the richest of all were in desperate need for immediate money in order to try to collect the sum and buy the stone, which was named "The Moon" as it was considered the Sky's heart in the eyes of professionals...

Re: [Jewellery] The Moon
It was not long until the news about this outstanding stone reached Hartington. The Duke then sent a message to the company's bosses asking that he sees the Moon as soon as it can be arranged. Later that same day a letter arrived saying that the company is delighted to present the Moon to His Ducal Highness.
In the meantime, since their coronation, the Duke and Duchess decided that it would be improper for them to keep their official residence in Hartington. It just wasn't able to accommodate the large group of people helping the family to run the demesne and the small group of servants keeping Ivo in touch with the daily running of the Supreme Court in the capital. Moreover, Hartington was designed to be the retreat of Ivo and Gwyneth, not a source of endless work and worry. So in fact they had decided it would be better to obey tradition and accept the Palace of the Bay as their official residence as Crown Duke and Duchess while keeping Hartington for their happy private life.
Ivo met the company's managers two days after. The moment he saw the stone, he already associated it with a future owner and there was nothing anyone could do to change his mind. Ivo asked for the price and it was even greater than the rumours suggested. Indeed, he could count the people who he knew could afford the stone using the fingers of one of his hands only (and he did know the Natopian elites). But nevertheless, he was decided to buy the stone. In order to purchase it, Ivo needed a loan. It was not a big deal, who wouldn't loan a Crown Duke who also happens to be a Chief Justice who's wife also happens to be the aunt of an Emperor? So, within a couple of days the Duke could enjoy the Moon all day and all night, it really was one of the most beautiful precious objects he had seen.
Gwyneth was equally stunned by the Moon and she said that there was no other stone, except her Heart, which she liked more. Ivo shared his plan for it with his wife and they both agreed to implement it in full. But before any action could be taken, a ring needed to be made. They ordered a golden one and several of days later on an outstandingly rare and expensive black opal was shining on a male ring of gold. Incredible!
