[Demonsfall] Protests

Post by Kyle Kilynn »

Kyle Kilynn had organized demonstrations in Demonsfall to protest the new Kaiser and Minister of the Exterior. He gave an interview to a reporter covering the protests.

"It's something that strikes very close to me, after marrying into the Waffel-Paine family. I recognize I'm in a unique and awkward position being a Shirerithian and a Natopian and some may see me as more loyal to one over the other, especially considering my familial ties to Natopia. However, Ynnraile has been a refuge for my Draconian people and I will continue to defend them here and speak for them. They are very concerned. The tapes revealed serious questions about the Kaiser and his MiniEx. I would like to see an independent investigation into the Kaiser's sudden return to politics, and the sudden disappearance of Dominus, the murders of Adam's brothers, and the murder attempts against a former Natopian emperor. I would very much like to see the Landsraad take an active role in this investigation and will be visiting Wintergleam tomorrow to propose something once the Landsraad reconvenes there."

Hyre the 24th of Elroqpinu (Oustfest +83)

The Kaiser was recovering from an operation to remove a hernia when the news of the actions of the Duke of Ynnraile reached him. It may go some way towards explaining the disproportionate response that followed...
His Imperial Magnificence Aurangzeb II Steffki, Kaiser of the Imperial Republic of Shireroth, Thane of the Shirelands, Keeper of the Apollo Legacy, Wielder of the Sword of Vengeance, Grand Master of the Orders of the Dragon, Griffin, Phoenix, and Chimera, Sovereign of the Golden Mango Throne.

During Silnuai 1645, the rapidly advancing UDF forces stumbled on evidence of crimes against humanity committed by the Jaysh al-Sathrati under the command of Lord Adam.

UDF personnel arriving in Demonsfall on the 7th of Silnuai 1645 made enquires as to the whereabouts of protesters arrested by the regime of Lord Adam following the demonstrations against Tokaray al-Osman which occurred between Hyre the 24th of Elroqpinu and Eljere the 23rd of Vixaslaa 1644.

The Rrakanychan Watch, which had made the initial arrests, had transferred 43 male students from the Kaiseress Kizzy Memorial College into the custody of the Gendarmes Brigade of the Jaysh al-Sathrati.

Enhanced interrogations of captured gendarmes by the Union Intelligence Corps (UIC) led to a number of voluntary confessions detailing the whereabouts of a detention facility in the Plantation District of Suthergold. During the Elwynnese advance south a number of locations had been by-passed, of which the area around High Harvest was by far the largest single pocket.

A detachment of Fallskärmhúskarlar were subsequently dispatched northwards, charged with escorting the UIC officers who would be undertaking an investigation into the fate of the missing persons.

On the 10th of Silnuai, arriving at the Westfield Prisoner Remediation Facility outside High Harvest, the UDF found the site abandoned by the living and its sole occupants to comprise of around 10,000 unburied corpses in varying stages of decomposition. Prisoner records had been destroyed by the fleeing Jaysh al-Sathrati and there had been an unsuccessful attempt at burning down the camp and the corpses, which had been piled up one atop another like logs.

The camp was also discovered to be the site of a small industrial facility which comprised of a large decompression chamber, an anaerobic digestion plant, a mineral sizer or rock crusher, comprised of two rotors with large teeth, on small diameter shafts, driven at a low speed by a direct high torque drive system, and a shale gas drilling rig.

Engineers have assessed the rig and deduced that it operates on the principle of hydraulic fracturing, where a proppant, or solid material, is added to a fracking fluid and injected into a drilled borehole at a rate of high velocity in order to fracture open the subterranean shale layer.

Every indication appears to be that the proppant and high viscosity fracking fluid were being manufactured on site at the Camp.

The 43 missing Demonsfall students have not yet been identified amongst the dead and forensic investigations at the scene are ongoing.
