Appendix 1
1. Two adults may get married to each other. A "dual marriage" modeled after the relationship between the Butter Cow and Butter Bull.
1.1 Both parties to this marriage will agree to a contract, to either combine assets, property, and titles or agree to keep all assets etc separated.
1.2 Divorce will be arbitrated according to a judge and the details of the marriage contract. Equitable division of combined assets is preferred if amicable split.
1.3 Dual marriage ceremonies may be performed by an authorized civil official or an ordained member of any religion.
2. Two adults that are already married to each other may marry a third adult. A "triadic marriage" modeled after the relationship between the Cow and Bull and the Butter Spirit.
2.1 All three adults will agree to a new three-party contract, superseding the dual-married couple's original contract, specifying the ownership of assets, etc, in the new triadic marriage.
2.2 Triadic divorce must separate all three adults from each other, splitting common and marital assets three-ways.
2.3 Triadic marriage ceremonies may only be performed by a Bosarch.
3. Three adults that are already married to each other in a Bovic triadic marriage may marry a fourth adult. A "quadratic marriage" modeled after the Holy Quadrate of Cow, Bull, Spirit and Mortal united forever as Bous.
3.1 All four adults will agree to a new four-party contract, superseding the triadic-married couple's original contract, specifying the ownership of assets, etc, in the new quadratic marriage.
3.2 Quadratic divorce must first separate the fourth adult, using that contract to remove the fourth person and their assets from the quadratic marriage, leaving the triadic married couple and their assets as they were before the marriage.
4. Two sets of dual-married adults may marry each other to form a single quadratic marriage.
4.1 All four adults will agree to a new four-party contract, superseding both dual-married couple's original contract, specifying the ownership of assets, etc, in the new quadratic marriage.
5. All Quadratic Marriages require approval from the couple's local Metrobosarch who may counsel and interview the couples to ensure the miracle of Quadratic Marriage is properly bestowed upon loving couples. Appeals may be made to the Pentheros.
5.1 Quadratic Marriage is a permanent union of four perfect, balanced, equal-loving, adults. Divorce is not permitted and is an affront to the miracle of Quadratic Marriage.
5.2 Only a Metrobosarch or the Pentheros may perform a Quadratic Marriage Ceremony.
6. The adults in a marriage, regardless of it being dual, triadic, or quadratic, bear equal responsibility for raising any children brought into the marriage, by birth, marriage, or adoption.
7. In jurisdictions or situations that do not, or cannot, recognize triadic marriage, then the original dual-married adults shall act together as the legal couple and are obligated to extend as many legal rights to their third partner as is possible by law to simulate a marriage between all three adults.
8. In jurisdictions or situations that do not, or cannot, recognize quadratic marriage, then the four adults shall function as two sets of married couples, with any dual-marriages that previously existed forming the basis of the new pairing. Each couple is obligated to extend as many rights as possible to simulate a marriage between all four adults.
