The Spidertank is an improvement on the IMW-1 Walker. Utilizing the same steam technology employed in the larger walker, the spidertank has a compressed design with less horsepower. But this loss of power is compensated for in a much smaller and lighter unit. The Spidertank only has three legs, instead of the Walker's four, reducing engine torque and strain, thereby giving the unit greater power capacity. The shell canister is the heaviest component of the Spidertank, since it is heavily reinforced to withstand gun blasts. Unlike traditional tanks it does not have a turreted cannon. Instead the canister can hold a crew of four or five soldiers, who can fire with weapons from ports. This provides greater maneuverability with firing, and also allows the tank to double as an armored transport. The greatly-articulated spider legs are exceptionally maneuverable, allowing the unit to traverse almost any terrain; including scaling walls and structures. Several test units have already been deployed in the field, and their performance will be monitored closely.
