Exuberantly unlike many a other Storish Embassy building, which usually serve numerous other purposes before becoming the seat of a Storish diplomatic mission, the Palace of Suðrkype was built especially for the purpose of housing the Storish Embassy in Shireroth.
The palace derives its name, Suðrkype, which means "southern keep" in the Storish language, from the remains of an ancient fortification which were discovered when the site where the palace was to be erected, was being prepared for building. The aforementioned remains of the ancient fortification are said to be the southernmost that have ever been discovered in the County of Suthergold.
The Palace of Suðrkype is situated in the outskirts of the city of Kingsgate, but safely within its massive wall of dense marble, and is surrounded by a park of about 2 hectares. The palace has been built in the typical Kingsgate style of gold and white.
