Dead-Ringing: A New Kind of Sport

Post by Ryker »

Since their joining of Suthergold, the Priesthood of Dsun has been training willing subjects in their ways. To make use of such power in Underwall, the Priesthood and myself have created the new sport of survival in Underwall's Dead-Ring, from which the name comes.

The Rules:
No incident of death is condoned
No firearms or explosives
No magic other than Dsun's
No combat armor
No physical injury
No contact outside of the D.R. for the 24-hour duration of each game
No blade longer than 10 cm/over 0.5 kg
No saws/serrated blade
No blunt weapon made from materials of concerning density
No one, save the two players (ringers), may enter the D.R. without permission from the Priesthood
No chemical-induced enhancements deemed unsafe is to be used
Exceptions to the weapon restrictions are any tools/traps/weapons crafted by a ringer during the game
The first ringer to have the other's life in his hands is declared the winner
If the 24-hour time-limit is reached without a victor, then a draw may be offered by either competitor or a rematch may be held one week later.

OOC: Please don't say this is a rip off of the Hunger Games (which is, itself, a rip off of Battle Royal). You all know how much I value originality.

Originality is like mother's milk - you only drink it at one time in your life. Forever after it comes from some random cow.

Perhaps if you would be so kind as to elaborate a little more on the gameplay aspect, Elwynn may see fit to assemble a team of acolytes to learn the sport and participate in the games.
His Imperial Magnificence Aurangzeb II Steffki, Kaiser of the Imperial Republic of Shireroth, Thane of the Shirelands, Keeper of the Apollo Legacy, Wielder of the Sword of Vengeance, Grand Master of the Orders of the Dragon, Griffin, Phoenix, and Chimera, Sovereign of the Golden Mango Throne.

Well, as you already know, death by any means is forbidden and any serious injury (broken limb, infection, etc.) is also prohibited. The D.R. is the area between the 3rd and 4th Barriers of The Underwall, it is heavily forested and has anything from harmless game to horrific beast as far as fauna goes. As for your acolytes, their arcane background will do them little good in the D.R. (I don't know if you've read Magic in Suthergold but you should take a peek) because my County's magic is bestowed by our Pantheon, not spell books. send whoever you like, none of them have any experience in our practices; nearly anyone outside of Underwall isn't even on the scale.

Think of it like a survival mode gladiator fight.

Isn't death the best part of gladiator fights?

Actually, Roman glatiator fights rarely resulted in death unless by accident or by an exeptionally bad performance by one competitor. It would have been unreasonable to invest so much time and resources training one to kill half of them off.

That said, sometimes it's just fun to dump a bunch of unruly slaves onto the arena and watch predators tear them apart.
