We'll see what the results will be, the only team defeated so far was the Gerenian, and we also lost against them.

OOC: I will use an online tool to decide who will win and lose

OOC: Well don't go easy on us, we're still an amateur team, so I'm expecting to be defeated very heavily :P The only reason we got a decent result against Nova England was because they haven't started their league yet :P

Four rugby league players included in Mercury line-up

Mercury have announced their squad for their upcoming friendly against Calbion. Four rugby league players have been included in the starting 15, as well as the coach of University of Mercury RLFC. There are no RLM Super 10 players named in the squad, due to the MRUC's ban on professional players, so the rugby league players have been selected from the RLM Development League.

Dragons beat Mercurians!

In a great display of sportmanship, the Rugby Union team of Calbion defeated their Mercurian opponents. The Dragons, almost without exeption professional players,
didn't have real difficulty with the team from Mercury, consisting amateurs and Rugby League players. The final score of 25-8 still was a huge victory for the Dragons,
even though a win was expected beforehand.

The match started exeptionally well for the Calbain team with Wyn-Jones scoring the first try after only four minutes. The Mercurian defense clearly had something to do
in the 15 minutes after that with the Dragons storming the Mercurian gates. The brave defense didn't prevent Calbion from scoring a second try, this time by Michael Thomas, bringing the score to 14-0.
After that, the Mercurians went on to play better, not resulting in goals however.

Then, with still ten minutes on the clock, Mercurian defenceman Woolaston kicked the ball in a perfect dropkick between the Calbain posts, resulting in a score at the break of 14-3

After the break, we saw a more even game. Mercury tried their best and it was clear that there were some talented players in their team, but the Mercurian will was broken finally after
Wyn-Jones scored his final try of the evening. Ryan Hawkings failed to score the penalty kick however and the score was now 19-3.

After one of the faulest scrimmages ever seen in Micras rugby, which left both Calbain defenceman Biggar and Mercurian forward Jameson injured, Calbion got awarded a penalty, which was scored: 22-3

Mercury supporters did have something to cheer for in the 71st minute of the match when young forward Rosberg rushed through the Calbain defense and scored a perfect try. Nerves caused the Mercurian to miss the attached penalty.

A late dropkick by Wyn-Jonas set the full score at 25-8.

Rugby Union - Calbion vs. Birgeshir

Post by Verion »

Pentyre - The first ever performance of the Birgeshir national team in an international Rugby Union match has been recorded last night. The Calbain national team hosted a match in the Caerdragon stadium against the exited Birgeshirians. The drive and motivations of the Birgeshir team were not enough to really trouble the seasoned Calbain squad, but the Birgershir players showed sufficient talent to make us think that we might very well hear from them in the future.

The match was opened by a quick try by James Faletau, who managed to outrun the defense. Ryan Evans scored the conversion, and Calbion started the match with a comfortable lead. This lead was challenged by Birgeshir's Pisemojk who scored a suprise dropkick after 13 minutes of play. A penalty for Calbion, scored by Evans, saw the half-time score at 10 - 3.

Calbion started strongly again after the break, and scored another try, this time by North, but this time Evans failed to take the two extra points. Two minutes after, however, Evans scored another penalty, making the score 18 - 3.

Birgeshir, not wanting to give in easily, fought hard to get a try, which, after an attack that took almost seven minutes, they got. It was Pa-Ankh Yælæz who suprised the Calbain defense, and put Birgeshir on 18 - 8. Цeybæk however missed the chance to add two to Birgeshir's score.

The match then turned into a stalemate that saw two might scrums, of which the latter resulted in a throw-in for Calbion. James Faletau used the opportunity to make a run for it, and scored his second try of the evening. Evans added the two points.

The match did end in a cheer for the Birgeshirian fans, some three thousand of which had come to view the match, when Mertkæn Kobal scored a penalty, putting the final score a 25 - 11.
