[Anqh Morham]Guilds

Post by Greagior »

Many guilds exist in the city, including:
The Thieves Guild
Famous for being the only city in which crime is legalised, members of the Thieves Guild will only steal a certain amount of money from each person for a given period of time. Many shop owners find this far more convenient, and get all their burglaries done at the start of the financial year. The Thieves Guild deals VERY harshly with non-licensed thieves.

The Beggars Guild
Seen all around the city, the Beggars Guild coordinates begging, pleading, and moaning about their horrible illnesses (but only on alternate Sundays, bookings essential). Anyone trying to get you to give them money is probably from this guild, especially if they suffer leprosy or are missing one or more limbs.

The Bakers Guild
Responsible for all bread in the city, even Dwarf bread.

The Woodcutters Guild
The backbone of the Morham economy, Woodcutters go into the nearby forests and cut wood. They even make cupboards, desks and small ships with it. You may purchase premade items, planks, or the "economy cut."

The Assassins Guild
One of the more prominent and famous guilds in the city, the Assassins wear black, look very cool, and are all gentleman. They also understand the value human life*. All Novatainian citizens may hire their services for backstory, as long as it's not against key government officials.

The Lawyers Guild
This guild handles all legal disputes in the city. You don't want to be on the bad side of them, unless you have a LOT of money.

The Historians Guild
One of the less exciting guilds, the Historians Guild have as their patron none other than the Patrician himself, and delve into the very forefront of historical research. They are currently examining the War of Gascon Liberation.

The Accountants Guild
Handling the financial matters for most of the cities businesses and leading citizens, the Accountants Guild are famous for having paid no tax, but for many years requested a large refund ...

The Musicians Guild
A place for all the musicians in the city, even the percussionists and vocalists, to meet together, complain about the lack of work, and drink huge. Has the Sub-Guild of Conductors, where terrible jokes are told.
