It has fallen on the Tuktu that we, as a tribe of the nation, have fallen behind in modernization. This is especially evident in the other tribes, particularly the Boazi and Cairndeir, who have embraced modernization while still keeping the traditions of reindeer herding. They have proven that tradition does not have to be sacrificed in lieu of modernization. As such, the Tuktu and Tiyets will no longer function as nomadic peoples, and will actively undertake a brisk program of modernization, beginning with state infrastructure. This will not be a haphazard approach but instead we will have planned settlements designed by professional community planners. Our approach will be to consider traditions, the environment, and how we can achieve modernity without losing our core principles.
