The Rise of Chief Atka

Post by Orion »

Great Chief Elkheart lived a long and glorious life. Even after the lands of Normark, with which the Herders had decided to bound themselves in honor, had become derelict and died, the Chief led the Herders through the taiga of the herd lands. But even he could not cheat death, and eventually his time came when he was called to join the Elders in the Great Sky. Although the Herders had dispersed, they still lived, and the tribes would continue to survive thanks to the efforts of their chieftain.

After many moons of herding, and avoiding the great wars of the world beyond the taiga, the Herders once again began to convene into a coherent nation. A young herder named Atka had risen to become chief of the Tuktuvut Tribe, the largest of the herder tribes, and quickly began to organize the various tribes together, restoring the great city of Elkheim as the center of herder culture. The Boazi of Kotihavn also sought to reinstate the nation, having developed more permanent settlements and herds. Thus the tribes came together and elected Atka chief, choosing to restore the Nation of the Reindeer Herders for the first time since the death of Chief Elkheart.
